For me, anything that is scheduled reeks of being pre-determined. As an example, the releasing of phone records of the opposition says to me a political stunt agreed on by both sides beforehand, because we all know; politicians will never break the law, unless they are absolutely certain they can get away with it. And so, I’m expecting a great yawn fest with a few added promises of “we’ll get them just before the 2020 election,” so stay tuned. Honestly, the only way to drain the swamp at this point would be Roger Stone like raids and military operations at zero dark thirty. So until I see the shock and awe happening, I’m just expecting to see more of the same soap opera for the benefit of the MAGA/never Trumpers to be able to stick their tongues out at each other.

The IG report is just one of the pieces, official and by the book, it will be combined with many others, some to be born in the Senate, some to emerge from official investigations, all official and by the book, to create the necessary preponderance of evidence for the charges everyone desires.
The building of an air tight case is a serious endeavor, especially considering the defendants, with positions and associates within the structure. Trump and team must do a far better job than we see being done on the other side. We are witnessing historic events, the unfolding must be handled with care, the precedent set must be viable for future generations. Rush to judgement and mob rule must be avoided, as gratifying and alluring as it seems for those in the “know”.

I can and will say though, if anything more than an emboldened header below the fold of the third page of any given newspaper is given to the results of all this probing and investigating, I will be totally shocked beyond belief. The only ones who have any change of being held accountable for any of their actions will be the kid on the bicycle who delivered said paper. All the others will be joyfully promoted or otherwise well rewarded for their participation in this exercise to strengthen and display the might of our Department of Justice and other federal agencies. Too many people are watching for the IG to exonerate everyone. I (and a few others here) have said all along that the IG and/or Barr will choose one or two low to mid-level chumps–say, the FBI lovers–and throw them to the wolves, with a caution that going forward we let bygones be bygones; forgive the many crimes and forget the criminals for the good of the country. It’s possible the IG will let them all off, and the deep state will judge the reaction. If too severe, Barr will chose the chumps.

The IG will lay out whatever was obvious, which is a lot, but we have known most of it (funny how the MSM hasn’t) for nearly three years. IG has no subpoena power and has no stick to force anything. IG can and will refer people for investigation of crimes he has uncovered. It may provide ammo for Barr and or Durham to proceed to grand juries and indictments, but they really don’t need the IG report for anything they are doing or will do. It is hard to be enthused about this forced snail’s pace we have to put up with.
