QUOTES OF THE DAY

“The sense of responsibility in the financial community for the community as a whole is not small. It is nearly nil. Perhaps this is inherent. In a community where the primary concern is making money, one of the necessary rules is to live and let live. To speak out against madness may be to ruin those who have succumbed to it. So the wise in Wall Street are nearly always silent. The foolish thus have the field to themselves. None rebukes them.”

John Kenneth Galbraith, The Great Crash of 1929

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.”

Matthew 7:15-18

Saved people today are not fruit inspectors. When Jesus was dealing with Israel during His earthly ministry, they were known by their fruits.

Critical lesson here. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are Old Testament books. How can I prove this? The New Testament can only begin with the death of the testator. Those books tell of His life and His dealings with the people He made old covenants with.

Hebrews 9:16-17 KJB… “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”

The book of Hebrews (note carefully, this is not titled the book of Christians) details the dedication of the New Testament in Christ’s blood to the nation Israel. This is yet to happen, it is a future occurrence. The nation Israel blew it; the book of Acts details it.

Second Timothy two fifteen.

“saved” people

He that endures to the end will be saved. Mt 10:22

If this saving thing is still in the future how can anyone say “I am saved” now?

Jesus is speaking to the Jews about to enter into the great tribulation as the Kingdom was at hand. It is they that need endure till the end. The Kingdom didn’t come however as Israel, on a national level, failed to recognize their Messiah. See 2 Peter 3

Excellent point and good on you for noticing. Compare your scripture in Matthew with…

1 Corinthians 1:18 KJB… “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

Learning how to rightly divide the scriptures will answer all these seeming disparities. The cross is a shame to Israel (Acts 2,3). Christians however glory in it; it is the power of God to SAVE!
