Elizabeth Warren Announces Her Presidency Will Include Free Year Of Disney+, ESPN, And Hulu

BOSTON, MA—On the campaign trail, Elizabeth Warren announced last Tuesday that, if elected, her presidency will include one free year subscription to Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN.

“I will start to use existing laws on day one of my presidency to implement a countrywide plan that offers a free year of Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN to millions of Americans — in addition to using all available tools to address streaming rates, internet access, and quicker turnaround on new seasons of the shows you love.”

Warren went on to say, “When I am president, you get the shows you love, streamed across all your devices, at home or on the go.”

Warren’s streaming bundle goes further than the proposals put forth by Biden or Buttigieg to offer one free month of Crackle if they become president, but stops short of Sanders’ call to combine all streaming services into one state-run streaming service that exclusively plays Michael Moore films and Curb Your Enthusiasm reruns.

Alongside the new plan, Warren released a letter written to her by three legal experts who vouched for the legality of a president offering a premium streaming bundle through executive action. The experts described the bundle as “lawful and permissible,” and also “an excellent value.”

However, critics say that her authority would not extend to including Hulu. Warren later clarified that Hulu would be ad-supported on her plan but “still a great deal.”
