Low rent narration, obviously.
Several years ago, the wife was hit from behind while she was sitting in her Toyota at a red light. Her Toyota GnatMobile was totaled by some drunk a-hole who thought it was a good idea to drive loaded before it was even noon. In another episode I witnessed an overturned van in the ditch after passing the spot in the opposite direction minutes later. Another Jersey a-hole decided it was a good idea to take a hit of dope at the wheel. He had to be revived at the scene by paramedics. By a stroke of luck we just missed him and the excitement he caused.
Now Filthy Phil Murphy, the carpetbag billionaire governor of NJ, thinks it’s a good idea to legalize MJ. Never mind the insurance premium boost on drivers. On top of that the a-holes in Trenton want to give the illegals a license to drive and foist off REAL ID on the rest of us.
…. and the wife wonders WHY I have a crappy attitude five minutes after leaving my driveway …

I remember how my (former) wife was T-boned the driver side of her car while legally going through the green light at an intersection by a drunk …

She ended up getting pushed across the stick shifter/console and into the passenger seat where she was found unconscious by a passerby MD who helped her.

The drunk driver sued us — and our insurance company awarded him $10,000 in nuisance value. Meanwhile, I pursued things from a slightly different angle and found out that this asshole already had NINE DUI accidents in the previous 4 years … and never did one moment behind bars —

Insurance companies basically suck. I had an accident witnessed by a cop and the insurance company made a similar payoff to the guilty just to stay out of court.
You will usually know how badly the court system wants the guy with the current DUI by how many experts and witnesses that they bring to court, because you are not going to see his past record. And you would think that the state would have brought the charges against the person you speak of. But I guess he wasn’t really drunk at the time huh. Though his brain was still mushy as usual.

Real question, can illegal aliens get real id? If not so, they cannot fly, correct?

and many libertarians think the driver should be allowed to operate a motor vehicle until he harms someone.

But held responsible….unlike the way it happens today.

Eye for an eye, or indentured servitude.

Indentured servitude until the victims are paid back for their losses – insurance or no insurance. We now focus on RETRIBUTION, which makes the DA and the rest of the government apparatus feel really good about themselves. Meanwhile, RESTITUTION requires another trial (or in this case many, many trials), and the culprit remains able to hide behind bankruptcy laws that get him/her out from having to pay anyone anything.

Holding a drunk “responsible” might make one feel better but it won’t bring back a life or broken body caused by a drunk who drove impaired.

You can’t get restitution from a ebt yielding drunkard, not going to happen man. What, make him work for you for three years and a blow job a week, please.

My 19 year old son and his girlfriend were at a stop sign in Manchvegas NH 2.5 years ago when a drunk asshole rear ended them, and drove them into a telephone pole. Accordian style. Guy tried to drive away with a scraping metal vehicle sound but concerned citizens stopped and held him until the cops came. He of course had no insurance. Thank you citizens for helping and looking over the two kids !! Severe concussions for both kids. My son to this day has severe sleep issues (goes for days without). It sucks and his brain is fucked up.
Point being, you can’t expect a system where a regenerate makes restitution and everything is A fucking ok. I have libertarian tendencies, but he is never going to get restituted (is that a word?).

Our fucking insurance company (which I actually work for), offered us 3000. Our lawyer filed a claim for a court hearing for 100,000. Of course that will take a year to get to court. In the mean time, i am trying everything I can for the boy including supplements, chiro, barimetric oxygen, name it.

Holding scumbags responsible doesn’t rectify the matter. Government or insurance doesn’t help much either. What is the answer? I personally have forgiven Mr drunk driver man as the Christian I am (don’t now if my son has, can’t blame him if not), as I have been busted for dwi 25 years ago (don’t tell anyone man, we all have our skeletons). Luckily I did not hurt anyone and paid my price and definitely learned my lesson.

I know that some of you have probably lost someone you love to a DD, and I apologize if this story trivializes that, truly.

I guess this could have been a drunk driver, and then maybe not. Last year here in the big city there were a couple of incidents that I knew of where gang members used stolen cars to do the same kind of damage just for fun.
I also know that there are what the police would call legally(?) drunk drivers out there at all times of the day. It’s the binge drunks that do most of the damage though. And I know for a fact that professional alcoholics are out there at all the times of the day too, with a BAC most likely over .16, that are very often good drivers. LOL Yeah, and you know the excuse that they use when they are in court, “Yeah, I was drinking but I wasn’t drunk.” I heard of a guy who had a BAC of .42 who used this excuse. And no he wasn’t dead. He was a professional alcoholic and had caused no accident when he was stopped for a minor traffic violation.
What I’m trying to say is, the mutha f-er’s be our there, so be careful.

Most states proclaim after consuming one alcoholic beverage your decision making capabilities are affected yet a state licensed distributor of said beverages will poor another and so on … ! When does the state licensed business stop serving you alcohol and still escape any contributory negligence charge !
Legally the business profits from serving you multiple drinks yet has little to no accountability for your drunken condition . I know and believe personal responsibility should reign supreme however I have seen businesses serve drinks till someone falls on their face .
Remember you are impaired to make decisions after one drink so where is the cutoff ? Restaurants and bars should only serve one drink per patron per night .
I know it a silly point however it is valid after all the state forces the establishment to be licensed and with that comes responsibility and accountability !
