As of yesterday's market close, total US market valuation stands at $33.9 trillion or 157.4% of the last reported GDP.
The highest market valuation above GDP ever.

It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. We all remember what happened in ’99 – ’00 when the dot.com bubble burst and tanked the market the last time valuations were this high.
A case in point – Tesla (TSLA) has a stock price that is approaching $600/sh and a market cap exceeding $100 Bln. This is more than twice as much as General Motors (GM) and 3 times as much as Ford (F). TSLA has reported 1 quarter with profits while the other 2 consistently have profitable quarters.
Hang onto your shorts as the roller coaster is nearing the apex.
Hah! Those shorts oughtta be the absorbent, disposable kind for many, many people that’ll be blind sided during the coaster’s descent, Tennessee Tuxedo.
…if ya know what I mean.
What’s the one thing preppers won’t typically need?
Well, Depends.
They can come in handy when on a long over-watch shift.
Forgot to mention that Elon starts getting stock options when the market value reaches $100 Bln and maintains for a short period. Think that might have anything to do with the run up?
This time it’s different.
It actually is different this time. As long as the world’s central banks continue their coordinated liquity interventions, that money will slosh into equities. Until that tap is turned off, equities will continue to levitate. “Search for yield.”
Dow 55,000.
I called for Dow 50,000 so many years ago, circa 2008. Do you recall how after 1987 there was a prognostication for Dow 10,000? It sounded crazy back then.
To me, as of late, stockmarket highs corrolate with currency debasement. Dow 100,000…..yeah, and BFD?
I vaguely remember when cheap store brand white bread could be had for 15 cents a loaf.
