THE BERNING PLATFORM

Guest Post by CCRider

At a largely anti-state site like TBP one imagines a lot of criticism will be directed at Bernie Sanders. Certainly, much of it will be deserved. But I hear an awful lot of BS being spoken about him, his message and his supporters and I think some context is in order. Let me start by stating I am an AnCap and supported Ron Paul going back to 1988. On both his presidential runs I supported him with the maximum allowable donations and volunteered my time and effort, often along with my then adolescent children. Those were heady and exciting days.

The youthful energy Sanders has generated is very reminiscent of that time. I see youngsters who are being screwed and struggling to hang on clinging to the one person who is preaching a message that gives them hope. Some name-callers call it socialism like he’s introducing some dreaded new concept into American governance. I hear him giving a Robin Hood message: I’ll make sure you get a cut of the loot.

Hardly a day passes on The Burning Platform without some contributor pointing out irrefutable evidence of the corruption that infests this diseased country we live in. The level of corruption is so endemic and in-your-face that the Attorney General can announce with a straight face the Epstein’s ‘suicide’ bullshit story was a result of “screw-ups”. It was all a series of boo-boos. Nothing to see here. He did so with the utmost of sincerity. That fig leaf is actually a pine needle with a fat liar cowering behind it.

We hear Trump issue bald-faced lies about the Soleimani hit, only to have his top advisors walk back every bit of it, like the rocket attack on Syria for using chemical weapons, now completely debunked. The corruption in the economic and financial realms are even more shameless. Funny how the fat cats who ran the economy into the ditch in ‘08’ and got bailed out by their pals in congress with our dough are suddenly so concerned about Bernie’s socialism. Lloyd Effing Blankfein is on the record supporting Trump over Bernie.

In this precious political system called democracy, we had crammed down our throats the immutable feature is one man-one vote. Everyone has equal political power. The con artist with the most votes wins. It’s all bullshit of course but that’s the story they peddle. So the entire federal establishment is allied against Bernie. Think of the rogue’s gallery: The military, defense industries, big banks, Wall Street, the Israel lobby, big pharma, all the usual suspects.

How many of these power centers will back Trump over Bernie with the megabucks that really matter in elections? Hey, it’s all about ROI, right? Then they run a bossy stiff like Bloomberg to force a deadlocked convention where the “superdelegates” have the votes that actually do count. Look at them; political hacks, lobbyists, employees, establishment zombies of every brand and stripe. It’s a naked con and the people who run that show want you to know they don’t give a shit what you think of it.

New subject. Eight weeks ago I started the vegan food program. I’m seventy and was 35 pounds over my ideal weight. I take only a blood thinner, a low dose aspirin and some vitamins. The vegan diet consists of plant-based foods-no animal products. Other than a bit of cream in my morning coffee I’ve stuck to the program. I’ve lost an average of 2 pounds a week, about 15 pounds in all giving me energy I haven’t had in years.

The liver spots on my forearms have almost disappeared. I’m bowel regular like an atomic clock and I feel more alert somehow, smarter even. The physical changes are noticeable. My point is not to debate diets. I am not offering advice, do your own research. But I’m delighted with the results thus far and I want to pass this on that it might help people I care about (even Trump voters). If you’re over 50 and/or have suffered chronic illnesses give it a look.

I’ve learned the number one cause of death in the U. S. is heart disease. More than suicides, shootings, accidents; everything. There is scientific, peer-reviewed, incontrovertible evidence that a plant-based diet can not only arrest but can in many cases, reverse heart disease. The attempts to discredit these findings I’ve read are from corporate shills whose criticisms are devious and obviously self-serving. That there is a strong correlation between eating plant foods and heart health cannot be denied.

There are hundreds of thousands of heart surgeries in the U. S. every year. If faced with an operation that subjects the patient to life-threatening consequences, wouldn’t the dumbest guy in the room suggest taking six weeks on this plant-based diet and see if there is improvement? What harm would that ounce of prevention do? The operation and associated risks might be avoided, along with all the pain, cost and inconvenience. That is almost never an option and we all know why.

Because the Cattlemen’s Association has lobbyists that tilt the table in their direction as does the dairy lobby, the AMA, hospital conglomerates, etc. Both those selling heart disease and those treating it rake in the big bucks. Do you think big pharma wants to see the market for prescription drugs that can go for ten grand a pop get replaced by broccoli? It’s a perpetual money machine, a government sponsored cartel. Just think of the depth of the deceit inherent here.

People whose judgement we have to rely upon are taking advantage of all those vulnerable and critically ill people. We’ve been betrayed by the best and brightest among us. It’s corruption of a heart breaking (literally) scale. Might Bernie’s single payer plan help eliminate this? I don’t know but please spare me the socialism lecture. This proves, yet again, our real problem is fascism.

I don’t think Bernie is a communist although he may have been at some point in his life. Lots of thoughtful people fell for the fairy tale that is communism in their youth only to come to their senses as they smartened up. Anybody here proud of their world view at age 21? Me neither. Bernie is for a traditional mixed economy managed by the government. He cites Denmark and Sweden as examples which is really just a short hop from what we have in this country.

He talks about revolution but it’s actually the next logical step down a path started a hundred years ago. All of the usual corporate theft and regulation rigging will continue unabated, only Bernie is going to add another theft layer for the working man. Finally; equality (smirk). We all get a share of the vig. What was that Mencken said about elections and auctions of stolen goods?

As we’ve recently learned via Modern Monetary Theory money is no object. Universal health care? College debt forgiveness? Free daycare? Why not? Just have the Fed print it up out of thin air. They do it now to prop up corporate debt and no one of importance cares. When was the last time you saw our dear leaders doing anything to limit spending and/or dollar debasement? Certainly not Trump. He loves spending and a cheaper dollar.

I don’t know if Bernie will make a least bad president than Trump and I don’t care. I quit democracy decades ago. Changes in the federal government can be made in the margins but the sacred parts run on momentum. Remember how Obama was supposed to be a commie who would radically change America? In fact his administration was an extension of W Bush, as Trump’s is of Obama. Structural changes are off the table.

Anyway, it’s all likely for naught. They’ll find a way to screw Bernie again. I have no idea how but that’s the safe bet. So all you Bernie haters can relax. Besides, I’m ever more convinced that the election in November will be a tipping point, if it’s held at all. Long standing norms are crumbling at an increasing rate. State secession movements are popping up everywhere. The Dummos are in open rebellion. The Afghanistan Papers exposed the rank deceit of that pointless bloody adventure for all to see.

Powell is telling anyone who will listen he’s NOT doing QE, all the while expanding the Fed’s balance sheet. Pathogens dominate the news cycle. Congress made blithering fools of themselves with transparently absurd coup attempts. Epstein, Bloomberg, Prince Harry, Weinstein -I feel like Dorothy in the tornado with terrifying images whizzing past my window. If my sense of it is accurate we’re in for a hell of a time and Bernie is the least of our worries.

Well said, well written, and well argued, CC.

Truth was uttered by Mencken about the advance auction of stolen goods.

Barry O. only looked like a Commie; he was really a Jihadi.

And finally, it is not a tornado we are in but instead a category 7 hurricane (or typhoon for those of you on the Left Coast). Hold on tight because this could be the ultimate deal with all the trick or treats coming together i.e. stock market bubble, pandemic, civil breakdown, for one hell of a wild deadly metamorphosing ride for us all.

If a young person has large student loan debt, no marketable skills, and no desire to work then why would they not have an affinity for someone like Crazy Bernie?

Take a look at Bernie’s “A Man and a Woman” essay from almost 50 years ago and decide if this is the kind of person who-in your own mind (and by no one else’s standards) should be president.

I wonder what the man would have been like had he been a big influencer of the motion picture industry?

If I were president, I would strongly petition Congress to pass a law whereby all superdelegates would have to wear capes.

But, seriously, CC, it took some balls to post that article on this forum. I agreed with some of what you wrote and disagreed with quite a bit of it as well.

Regardless, I appreciated your willingness to post your perspectives.

In any event, I’ll leave the shit throwing to the other monkeys and will, instead, request that you post a summary of your diet in this thread; not that I need it, but I’d be interested to see what you’re doing – mainly out of curiosity more than anything else.

And if you’re inclined to share your culinary curriculum, I’d primarily be interested in what type of foods and perhaps a daily meal plan example.

Thank you in advance

Believe in what people ate in the past and survived and were kept healthy. In the Middle Ages, the rich ate meat and very little grain. (There was no sugar.) Bread trenchers were not eaten but given to the poor after meals. The poor ate grain and beans. Everybody ate veggies and fruits. My suggestion: Eat like you’re rich in 1350 and you’ll be healthy.

Thanks. Will check it out as I have time this week.

Ultimately, I believe vulnerable and critically ill people would do worse under single-payer and I don’t believe (as you say) “our real problem is fascism”.

Bernie claims to be a Democratic Socialist, but Denmark and Sweden are not socialist countries. They have free-market economies.

I’m not so sure the Establishment will screw Bernie this time. In fact, he may be the tar baby to the Establishment’s Br’er Rabbit and Trump’s fox.

And I’m pretty sure Sanders is a communist.

But other than that, not much to argue over.

Doug, I think we’ll see a worldwide shift to a more plant-based diet as this word spreads. It won’t mean the end of meat in a diet, just less of it. And if that ends factory farms in favor of humane animal husbandry then that’s fine with me. Here’s another take:

It is really about eating “smart”. Meat should be in small portions and foods high in starch should be avoided (sugar, white bread & potatoes) . I saw a video once where the narrator showed a potato and said “this is the second worst thing you can put in your mouth”. It then showed a plate of french fries and said, “this is the worst”.

CC,

I read the book…I can’t go 100% veggie, no way no how…plus my wife likes her steaks and she is the cook…but if it works for you outstanding! Can’t argue with success.

I do grow and eat about 20 different veggies, big on eggs, fruit, fish and seafood.

I watch the carbs.

Gave up milk and feel noticeably better.

Eat a lot of nuts, and grow some as well and love my dark chocolate.

I’m with ILuvCO2 on bacon and butter.

I avoid all the processed crap, fast food…slow motion poison, and strive for healthy snacks.

Cutting out grains and sugar is the best thing you can do for your health. Everything you listed is very good for you. As far as milk, if you can get raw milk from healthy animals, it’s tolerated better. But fermented milk, like yogurt is even better tolerated. Fermented veggies are also great for you.

All,excellent advice Mark, thank you and I go along with all you say. My wife is South African and they love their meat – big time – so I too enjoy our steaks etc.

We stick to healthy foods, home cooking and a good variety of veg and diary. We are in our seventies – fit and healthy – read to kill if required (RSA only!). In UK our appalling climate does in fact strengthen us in our resolve and I am sure results in the famous ‘reserve’ that people like my wife find so disturbing having come from a shining sunny and happy place in spite of the lack of electricity, water and security – we take precautions that’s all.

western health care is great, if you can afford it. standard low-level care is easily affordable. mid-level care is barely in reach of most families. high-level care is out of reach to all but the ultra wealthy. if high-level health care is defined as a “right” then it bankrupts any society. which is, of course, the intent.

yah, we had affordable healthcare up until the early ’70s when the advent of “Managed Healthcare” became the “solution”. In reality, it was the beginning of a huge slide down the slippery slope of socialism-largely thanks to politicians who wanted to buy votes by giving people something for nothing while at the same time taking large contributions from health industry players of all stripes.

Case in point: we the insured were supposed to be “careful shoppers” of our healthcare providers, yet the health insurance companies would never divulge what they would pay for any procedure that one was shopping around; actual providers of that procedure generally would provide some numbers, but one never knew the complete picture without all the numbers. Yeah, in the insurance industry it is called “adverse selection” and the insurers never, never want to talk to you once they get wind that you are coming at them from the adverse selection angle.

I too see Bernie as a knee-jerk response to the lowest among us finally waking up to the fact that the system is royally screwing them over. He is this decade’s version of Occupy Wall Street – a totally justified movement that is instantly derailed by the laziness and ignorance of the participants. Bernie’s supporters lack the historical, economic, and life experience fundamentals to put his rhetoric into context, and they also believe that “I feel…” is a perfectly good way to to start a sentence to prove complex political issues. They do know that something is wrong though. Anyone who knows history can recognize Bernie as a fossilized 60’s radical whose lifelong dream was to wreck society a la the Russian or French Revolutions. He does not intend to help any of his supporters but rather will use them to sow unrest within the society. It’s sad to see some post-libertarians falling for his schtick, and is a sign of how desperate even more intelligent people have truly become.

The death of millions is the only solution. The only question is which millions. It’s not inherently wrong to kill. Men who will not kill for themselves are not men. There is a balloon payment of reality to be paid. Sad but true. I’m sick of being poor in everything but pain.

my experience is that it feels great at first, then as the body depletes of certain nutrients you start to feel terrible. track your nutrition closely and don’t take the first few months as indicative.

Eat grass fed organic, totally different fat profile. All the meat studies use GMO, corn fed antibiotic hormone laden garbage. But that’s what they want. Just sayin’ all meat is not equal, or even beneficial. Of course, all veggies are not equal either, most being laden with herbicides and pesticides.

I wish I had control to buy what I wanted. The good stuff is well beyond me. And besides hot women I can’t afford grass-fed steak. Damn, I’m imagining what that might taste like. American women can pound salt.

Doug, I can’t afford grass-fed steak either. I eat eggs, ground beef, bacon and other cheap cuts of meat from grass fed, grass finished animals. You don’t have to have steak or other expensive cuts. I also eat a lot of lamb. In fact, the heart, gizzard, liver, etc., are the best for you, nutrient wise, which is called the offal. I eat a lot of fish as well (wild caught).

We put another beef into processing with our neighbor to the north who gives his cattle a bit of grain, which he grows. We still have a lot of the other beef, but we decided it was time to fill the freezer again. I wanted a bit of marbling in my roasts. That pure grassfed beef is good, but it doesn’t have much fat on it. Is truly like venison in that way.

So, I’m filling my freezer in about three weeks. (Aging it a bit)

And, worst case? I can dehydrate or can it if I have to.

It was weird… the guy called and said the (half) steer’s hanging weight is 361. At 2.25 a lb, I’ll probably bring home 300 of that because I will get all the bones and some of the innards (I hate the word offal for some reason) for dogs.

I’m going to chat with the butcher and keep track of what the actual per pound cost ends up being this round. I tracked it in 2010 and so it will be interesting to compare.

Watched the “debate” for a few minutes after the grandson’s JV game finished-had not watched a political debate in many years and since the varsity game was going to stink I decided to come home early and watch one of the final laps of the Clown Car. Plus, I wanted to hear the other billionaire that all the millionaires on the stage love to hate.

I decided to view the debate and upcoming voting opportunity as if I had just arrived from another galaxy and had no prior information, but was going to take a few minutes to objectively form an opinion of which candidate-based solely on tonight’s debate performance-would get my vote.

One by one they started falling out of contention for various reasons, until at the very end it was obvious: Bloomberg conducted himself well, seemed to have measured responses (more of a stylistic criteria than one of actual policy substance), and came off as less of an asshole than most of the others. The other mayor (did you catch his reference to the ring he wears on his finger?) was obviously more polished than most (but wasn’t Obama pretty much in that category-mostly flash but little else?). This is NOT an endorsement of Bloomberg; rather an admission that he is in the unenviable position (at least as far as this debate alone) of being nothing more than a lesser of all the other evils kind of choice.

For lack of a better descriptor, Bernie came off more like a fraud, though he seems to have some delivery skills (but wtf, he has been blowing hot air for over 40 years). Joe seemed to have missed his bedtime and was far too stupid trying to act angry; Amy was awfully snarky and/or plain hypocritical; Steyer went a little too overboard with his feigned anger, and I wonder why he let the moderators screw him on speaking time-Trump would have called the CBS bitches out right then and there; Elizabeth seemed a little more polished at times than others but at the same time seemed to lack that genuine feeling.

To summarize: Bernie may appeal to some, but across the trans-generational divide he presents as a fraud; caveat emptor.

CC,

I’m 70 as well…only chronic problem is arthritis in my left hand…have to work hard on my diet to keep my blood pressure acceptable…but mostly successful, otherwise pretty robust.

Check into this. I am in my 4th day taking it and amazed on the reduction of pain in my hand. Also sleeping better. That is an awful strange duel co-winkey dink.

Also, feel a seemingly pick up in my energy, and I’m already pretty hyper with a lifelong high energy level.

Hmmm…

It is too soon to tell…but the site is fascinating and Borax is dirt cheap…I am going to stay with it…very pleased so far.

There also is a Chemtrail detox implication…didn’t get this site from Niebo…but Borax was featured on a vid he posted…it’s a wild ride vid.

“The Afghanistan Papers exposed the rank deceit of that pointless bloody adventure for all to see.”

That’s what people said about the Pentagon Papers 48 years ago, until people realized it was a bogus, managed leak engineered by master spy Daniel Ellsberg.

It amazes me how people think these “leaks” are groundbreaking and legitimate.

The Afghanistan Papers = shit you already knew, leaked after it’s too late to do anything about it.

As far as Bernie goes, two wrongs don’t make a right. We don’t need more government but much less, and being put in gulags is not up my alley. And Bernie is not the man to do it. We need someone that will roll back government. I, too, was a Ron Paul voter. Haven’t voted since they screwed him.
As far as a vegan diet, you can eat this way from three months to a year and it helps your body, but after that, your body will deteriorate. Our body is made for both meat and veggies so we can survive in different situations. Those on vegan diets usually take desiccated liver pills so they get all of the B vitamins, especially B12, which is not bio-available to us from plants, regardless of what you’ve read. You can live on veggies and dairy but not a totally vegan diet.
Also, your body has no carb requirement. But it does have a requirement for fats and protein. And meat is the best for that, along with keeping you satiated so you don’t overeat and become fat. Never stay all-vegan.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency in Meat Eaters, Vegetarians, Vegans, Farm Animals & What To Do

“cattle no longer feed on grass and chickens do not peck in the dirt on factory farms. Even if they did, pesticides often kill B12 producing bacteria and insects in soil. Heavy antibiotic use kills B12 producing bacteria in the guts of farm animals… Even if you only eat grass-fed organic meat you may not be able to absorb the B12 attached to animal protein. It may be more efficient to just skip the animals and get
B12 directly from supplements…”

The main problem I see with electing the Burn and more in congress like him is they don’t give a rats ass either about collateral damage to others not seeing the same world they see.

I’ve been voting third party for over 20 years, I get the corruption of our two party system, I understand the corruption of Wall Street, Big Pharma, the Military Complex, the Fed, lobbyist, ect ect etc, I understand we need some change soon.
The Burns plans and others like him are to basically ass rape the middle class with the stupid excuse of raising taxes on others like Wall Street, and the wealthy to pay for his Utopian dream.

He’s a life long politician, he’s never worked a real job in his entire life. He has minimal education, his degree is in political science, another one of those ‘if your heart is beating, you should be able to pass this’ degrees. If the Burn couldn’t rely on politics to pay him for being a loud mouth know-nothing, he would be unemployable except in a minimum wage job. And who’s fault is that? Sure as fuck isn’t mine.

His platform is, If you don’t have it, vote for me and I’ll take it from those greedy wealthy white privileged hard working middle class sonsabitches.

When contemplating the corrupt nature of politics, hope is a luxury of the young and naive. Older and wiser people now better. You’ll know them by their fruits

That said, while not a vegan, I do subscribe to a vegetarian diet albeit with the rare seafood dish consumed on occasion. I’ll not bore you with going into the heath benefits I’ve received by switching from a meat eaters to a plant based diet, but suffice to say it saved my life. So, what are our options?

Trump is a man who loves America, but also seems to love the corrupt system that he keeps crying he is a victim of, yet does nothing to replace it.

Sanders is a man who would love to wipe out the system, but what he will replace it with is the subject of nightmares.

What we thought Trump would accomplish in restoring our republic by draining the swamp has become (so far), just preserving all the corruption so we can wave the flag while America continues on its downward spire.

Bottom line is we have no champion and we do not have the resolve to admit it and act accordingly. We are screwed.

Alone again, naturally.

My first thought is that he’s a communist, and historically they leave millions of dead bodies in their wake when they gain power. Then I think well the guy has been around for decades so he has a pretty sizable track record to consider. But then I see quite a few very high profile jews kvetching over the guy (Br’er Rabbit comes to mind here) which pretty much convinces me that he’s “their guy.”

In the end, it doesn’t matter who wins 2020. We’re getting war with Iran. We’re getting more gun control laws. We’re getting more drag queens and globohomo, and we’re getting more censorship of conservative voices and more explicit vitriol of white people in the media. Will the West go quietly in chains or put up its last stand? If there is a fight, and the West can muster the will, I would rather that fight be sooner rather than later.

Very well done post. I wish you luck with both Bernie and your diet, though I’m not a personal fan/follower of either — I’m happy to live my life on my own terms and pay the consequences of my own choices, and I’ll voluntarily work with anyone who is genuinely loving in their thoughts and actions towards others. But I will not be forced, and I’m not convinced of anything by argument, only by example, experiment, and experience. This is also why I’m not a vegan, not even a vegetarian, in fact I eat a mostly Keto/”carnivore” diet, just because it’s the only way I’ve found to successfully keep my blood sugar in the good range (I’m a Type II Diabetic) whilst also keeping all my other blood/medical test numbers good *and* — most of all — feeling a lot better than when I ate carbs. I realize it’s possible to get some kinds of good fats/protein out of plants, for me I just don’t find that life is all that worthwhile without bacon. 🙂 Seriously it has taken much practice, failure, and continued experiments and adjustments to get to where I am today — and I know my path is only my path, everyone must find his or her own path. God will be there if you let Him.
