What are my thoughts on weapons? Thanks for asking. Always carry at least two knives. One for doing various things that make having a knife at hand a good idea, and one for last ditch self defense (which is to always be super sharp and never used for anything besides for your defense). Any guns/magazines/mag holders/kydex holsters for field use oughta be rattle-canned in at least 3 flat colors that generally mimic your region/season. Rattle canning weapons and gear breaks up their outlines, is fairly cheap and is actually quite a bit of fun. Avoid undersized pistols except for as a backup/second backup. Small pistols in big calibers make for tough followup shots. Small pistols in small calibers are not an ideal manstopper. Never shoot to wound or kill…shoot to stop. Oftentimes stopping may involve two or more hits, and stopping may likely include killing, but the point is always to shoot to stop. Know your enemies’ weapon(s). Know your own weapon. Carrying (a weapon) should be a comfort, not comfortable. MTFU, brother.
