Most dogs are better than most people. Just found out today my youngest GSD girl has 8-9 pups in her due next weekend. We will be whelping them. At 4 weeks or so, you just lie on your back on the floor while pups crawl all over you. It don’t get any better than that!! Is anything in this world better than puppies?? Fuck this coronashit, I’m gonna have puppies to take care of!!

Once, living for decades 30mi NW of Houston I’d seen many dogs dropped off. You try to care for those who’ll let you near, but can’t take all.
One adopted me one day. She saw me across an undeveloped field from a few hundred yards away and came right home. She was an interesting mix, something of a tall corgi something or another. Wonderful guard dog for my children and a welcome sidekick when I was in the yard. Loyal, faithful, never questioning what you’re up to. I had to put her down 6 or 7 years ago. Of the 9 dogs I’ve had in the last 30 or so years, none have been anything but a blessing. Some dogs, like people have difficult personalities. But a loving master makes the dog what they ultimately become.
