Democrats Delete Tweet Targeting Mount Rushmore over ‘White Supremacy’

The Democrat Party on Monday evening tweeted, then deleted, an attack on Mount Rushmore, negatively portraying an upcoming event President Trump is planning ahead of Independence Day at the historic monument to four great American presidents.

“Trump has disrespected Native communities time and again,” the Democrats wrote on Twitter, with a link to an article in the British newspaper the Guardian, in the now-deleted tweet. “He’s attempted to limit their voting rights and blocked critical pandemic relief. Now he’s holding a rally glorifying white supremacy at Mount Rushmore–a region once sacred to tribal communities.”

The linked story from the Guardian quotes Oglala Lakota tribe member Nick Tilsen, the president of local activist group “NDN Collective,” as calling Mount Rushmore a symbol of “white supremacy.”

“Mount Rushmore is a symbol of white supremacy, of structural racism that’s still alive and well in society today,” Tilsen said, a message echoed by the Democrat Party’s formal Twitter account.

The Guardian piece goes on to note that Tilsen wants to see Mount Rushmore torn down altogether.

The push from the Democrats to target Mount Rushmore comes as leftist activists tear down monuments and statues around the country. But the move by the Democrat Party to put the iconic American mountainside monument to four great American presidents–George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln–in the crosshairs by claiming it represents “white supremacy” when it clearly does not may go too far for some voters.

Several on Twitter were quick to rip the Democrats for pushing attempts to destroy Mount Rushmore:

Trump is set to appear on Friday at the historic landmark in South Dakota’s Black Hills. The fireworks celebration at which the president will speak is limited in crowd size to just 7,500 people, and tickets were awarded by lottery, according to South Dakota authorities.

Last week, Trump signed an executive order protecting monuments from rioters and others who would seek to destroy or tear them down.

“They’re tearing down statues, desecrating monuments, and purging dissenters,” Trump said in a statement accompanying the executive order. “It’s not the behavior of a peaceful political movement; it’s the behavior of totalitarians and tyrants and people that don’t love our country.”

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, in a recent tweet, said she would protect Mount Rushmore from radicals who want to tear it down:

Noem addressed it further in an interview on Fox and Friends last week, saying that this is now about a “radical rewriting of our history.”

“What my message is, is that this is no longer about equality, this is a radical rewriting of our history, and in South Dakota we won’t stand for it,” Noem said. “This is a national monument. The more we focus on the flaws of these men that are on our mountain, the less likely we are to recognize the virtues and the lessons we can learn from their lives. So that really is the message that I have for South Dakotans that love this mountain and Mount Rushmore for this country, that recognize what it represents to us, and we will do all that we can to make sure that that message is loud and clear, that we will make sure that Mount Rushmore stays as majestic as it is today.”

Gov Noem is the only governor who respected individual rights during the scamdemic. She briefed the state on what information she was given and told them to do what they saw fit to protect themselves and their families.

What a breath of fresh air from this lovely woman.

I live in SD.

According to Noem, she didn’t have the power to shut down the state.

“I told them exactly what I’m going to tell you right now, is that I can stand up as Governor and I can give a strong speech telling businesses to shut down, but I don’t have the authority to enforce that,” Noem said. “That enforcement and those tools are at the local level.”

“I can certainly give directives as governor, but when I look at the statutes and powers given to me as governor, the actual enforcement of that is very difficult for a governor,” Noem said. “So, I have told them that they have the tools (local levels) at their disposal to do that.”

Many towns and cities enacted shutdowns.

Hey there Injuns, why not build your own massive granite masterpiece to someone like, I dunno, Crazy Horse.
Oh, that’s right, a white guy has already been working on the project for over 30 years.
“White supremacy”, suck a bag of dicks.

It takes a white guy to create a monument to YOUR history.

I wonder if the progs would accept replacing Ol’ “totalitarian war criminal” Abe Lincoln with Michael Savage? Although I guess Chuck Norris is the obvious choice. Or Johnny Unitas. Or Larry Bird.

Well…I’d give the land back to the Cheyenne…and tell the Souix if yah’ want the land back yah’ gotta’ get if from the Cheyenne . Once your done the winner can try and remove the tens of thousands of Wyoming and South Dakota residents. I’ll sit on the hill over looking it all, munching on some popcorn and enjoy the fireworks .

If yer’ an Indian and yah’ have your own Nation as they tell me when I’m there…well then you can’t vote in our Nation .
