Ohio Woman Arrested and Tased For Not Wearing a Mask at Son’s Outdoor Football Game
Alecia Kitts traveled to see her son play football in Logan, Ohio. Footage shows her seated with her family at the proper social distance from other families without a mask on. A police officer approached her and arrested her. After she struggled and resisted arrest, the officer in the video tased her into submission in front of children.
One witness, according to the Ohio Star, said that a child sitting on the metal bleachers got shocked when the charge traveled through the metal.
According to Tiffany Kennedy, the woman who shot the above video, Kitts had not been warned for not wearing a mask prior to the officer approaching her. Kennedy also said that Kitts has asthma and that’s why she was not wearing a mask.
“There is no reason to tase someone and arrest them for not wearing a mask,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy also pointed out the female officer who is shown running toward the Logan officer and Kitts at the end of the video was not wearing a mask – pulling one out of her pocket as she was in pursuit.
“Alecia’s mom said that when the officer tased her, the current went through the bleachers and zapped the kid sitting there too.”
Kitts appears to be socially distanced from others in the crowd and sitting with her family. “There were only 25 or 30 fans from our town on our side,” said Kennedy.

This is why I support doing away with police departments and letting sheriffs take over instead. A sheriff is elected and can refuse to enforce an unconstitutional law and then answer only to the voters. A police chief can’t do that because he’s appointed by the city council and will be sack and they’ll find someone else to enforce their stupid laws.
The reason for multiple law enforcement agencies in a given jurisdiction is to prevent potential corruption of only one bad agency or sheriff.
The best way to protect a county is through a good constitutional DA who refuses to prosecute bad law regardless of the arresting agency.
The problem is that liberal political jurisdictions elect liberal politicians, sheriff’s and DA”s.
if you need multiple cop shops to police the police, don’t you need multiple da shops to persecute the persecutors?
the armed citizenry is supposed to police the police. the moment any society forgets this, they start the slide down into tyranny. it takes more armed citizenry and a lot of pain and suffering and loss , to get freedom back.
Our former sheriff is a solid Christian and really served the county. The local establishment kept running opponents against him and getting their butts kicked.
If there’s only one agency, and they’re corrupt, the citizens can take them. It’s been done in the past.
indeed there is a big question to ask, when and where did these police departments get their police powers? granted in a charter from the state govt perhaps? where did the state get those powers, since those powers were already vested in the elected sherriffs? It would seem that the power of those police departments was never legitimate to begin with. and by the way, you dont know how lucky you are in the states that you _have_ elected sherriffs as the true guardians of the law. in europe for example it’s all centralized enforcer goons for the central state.
The mayors and city councils in the U.S. enacted the police departments,which was based on what became common in England in the mid 1800s. It’s always been political in nature.
The sheriff in the U.S. is inherited from the Medieval English legal system, which is one of the best things we inherited from the English.

_especially_ given the level of corruption and abuse of power throughout the system anymore, resisting arrest is more like everyone’s right and obligation, and assisting a citizen to help him avoid arrest , like those people in spain did when they pulled the cops off of a free citizen breathing fresh air, is a civic duty. Maybe we’ll be able to restore a true republic with a government limited strictly by enumerated powers , and then the police might again be merely the arm of enforcement of the law after actual offenses have been committed or in active defense against offenses in the process of commission.. and then resisting arrest might be something to frown upon (but even then how can one ever penalize someone for fighting for his own freedom? that’s a twisted concept!)
