The Thailand Wuflu experience

Guest Post by Thaisleeze

Why is this story not part of the conversation? 3,622 cases, 59 deaths (including 1 returnee in quarantine), 66 million population.

1. The country was the first to detect the virus outside China on January 13. Two locations, 26 cases in the first instance. Contact tracing instantly initiated.

2. Swift closing of airports after Trump blocked some China/US flights.

3. Quickly followed by closing all borders.

4. Military style response wherever cases were found. We saw that first hand when the hazmat suited disinfection team, platoon sized, turned up after a neighbour was diagnosed. The size of the guys suggested military, but no markings. Very modern kit. Our province now about 200 days virus free having been one of the initial 2 locations, when I admit I was petrified. Thanks to TBP readers who offered support at that time.

5. Enforced hospitalization for patients and quarantine for any contacts.

6. Country totally closed down in February, travel outside your home province banned, local travel no problem subject to mask. Wet markets (most are outside), a primary food source, remain open throughout. Other businesses all closed. Lock downs were not generally enforced.

7. Thai people from overseas were allowed to start returning on special flights in May, all returnees have enforced 14 day quarantine. Hundreds of cases among returnees to date, no stories of the virus getting out. Businesses slowly start to reopen in June, schools in July.

8. A couple of cases found recently are thought to have come illegally from Myanmar. Huge military style response, sympathetic but rigid in its requirements.

9. Ongoing national caution, foreign tourists are not wanted by a large majority according to surveys. Borders/airports still closed except for wealthy people prepared to go through enforced quarantine and stay for months. Much talk but little other action. Foreigners with Thai families being allowed back. All non-Thai visitors/returnees must have health certificates, insurance for US$100,000 medical cover and do the quarantine. Still no business travel.

10. Most people now carry a mask for when it is required at schools, malls, government offices etc. Otherwise it stays in the pocket or around the neck.

Death with/from Covid is at the bottom of the list of causes here. More people die from coconuts and palm fronds dropping on them, not to mention aids, dengue, TB, hepatitis etc. The number is insignificant overall.

Lots of theories for this success, no definitive evidence. Earlier I totally misjudged how Thailand would fare and owe the junta an apology. What might help the world would be to introduce this experience to the debate. I have not seen a single mention of it in the media outside Thailand which concerns me and raises a further red flag.

so… they too fell in line and enforced the manufactured emergency narrative.
slight local variations in implementation but the marching orders were sent out worldwide.

Here is a disease so virulent that the majority of the population need a test to determine if they had it. WTF! I doubt anyone really knows how many have been exposed. I don’t know any foreigners that have had a test and the average Thai certainly cannot afford one. The population in general is young and thin and you almost never see old people out and about. They remain at home. The real danger is traffic accidents, 11,600 deaths this year vs 59 covid. TB is endemic with 130,000 cases. No safety net here, the people are hurting.

On the positive side of this mess, if there can be one, the police are not arresting or beating anyone up over social media posts or not wearing a mask and the are no Karens here giving you shit for not wearing your mask. I never really felt like I was restricted from going anywhere except the bars and there were plenty of ladies around anyway. Nothing like the poor bastards in Australia and other western countries have to put up with.

One positive effect of the virus I just thought of…..the Chinese are gone!

Back in February there was one case identified in Aspen and supposedly it was one of ten unidentified Australians who had recently flown in for some skiing. One other “allowed” him/herself to be tested but the other eight refused and immediately returned to Australia-or so went the story.

TPTB at the state level took the Alfred E. Neuman stance-“What, me worry” and let all the “evidence” escape. Whatever the hell really happened-if anything-remains a mystery to all but a select few, I would guess. In retrospect, a small group of high school freshman drama students could have written a better script than what we were told. Needless to say, what was turning out to be a blockbuster season for the ski industry was quickly and efficiently flushed down the globalist sewer.

Seems like a totally rational response to the flu.

Thats nice. Thailand relies on tourism. Visit and be put under house arrest by the military.

Another article pleading for comment sense to prevail. It won’t, the fix is in.
The only solution is to physically remove those in control from their positions.
The good news is that those positions consist of a relatively small amount in comparison to those that want to/can use the 2nd amendment as it was intended.

Any population that hasn’t been exposed to this coronavirus is still susceptible to it – to the extent that it ever was susceptible. So whether it’s Thailand or New Zealand, the efforts to keep it at bay will have to be maintained forever – unless a successful vaccine is developed and made available. We just heard about a second vaccine trial having to be halted because of serious health complications. Has there ever been a successful coronavirus vaccine? Or an RNA vaccine? Just because Bill Gates wants one doesn’t mean it will work.

It seems probable that the countries that looked like “successes” may not look that way if they’re still maintaining severe strictures years later. Sweden hit herd immunity. NYC hit herd immunity months ago. The recent clampdown on “cases” by Deblasio in republican enclaves is theater. According to city stats, the deaths have been 2, 4, 3 per day this last week – in a city of 8.4 million.

So my guess is that Thailand – like everywhere else – will eventually lose the battle to keep the virus out. Half of the people will prove to be totally immune due to a robust T cell response based on prior exposure to coronaviruses. 99.8% of the rest will develop antibodies and fight it off – many without even knowing they’d had it. The Thai population probably skews young and not very obese. As in African countries, it’ll pass through and would barely be remembered if it weren’t for the mass psychosis.

So this means the WuFlu is eradicated in Thailand or just waiting for a chance for Thailand allow herd immunity. Heard about Sweden?

What’s next, lockdown for colds? Chicken pox? Keep it real.

Thailand is about 200k square miles, or roughly 2/3 the size of Texas. The United States is 3.8 million square miles. Even if we were inclined to respond the way the Thai government did, the physical reality of such a response would be impractical logistcally. If you feel the response in your country was appropriate, then fair enough. In a small, ethnically homegeous country, that sort of response, although distasteful for “freedom huggers” like me, would likely never work in the US and would get ugly fast IMO.

Without herd immunity or an effective vaccine, you need to maintain lockdowns, mask mandates, closed border closing, etc., etc. forever.

I’ll take the Sweden approach.

So, Thailand beat the Corona virus … for now.

But, at what cost? Headline from Economic Times; — “Thailand’s decision to beat coronavirus leaves millions unemployed” Millions … in a small country … seems pretty devastating … looks like much of Thailand is a ghost town. This is success?

Same here, we smoothed out the curve of a respirtory flu but created a 1929 like crash that could take 10 years to recover from; that was Major League Government Stupid. PS: Most of the Americans who died of CV-19 would have survived if the Government had not banned the use of cheap, effective, safe HCQ.

The most effective and long term solution to the fake pandemic and the “mutations” sure to come contain NONE of the suggestions above. Lead is the only substance to cure our ills , liberally applied. (pun not intended)
