The only parts of any military I am concerned with aside from specops types is artillery. Especially any Russian arty doctrine types lol. Our government has also allowed China to buy up mining operations and farmland across the country and allowed them to bring Chinese military troops into Canada to defend their Canadian properties without informing Canada. I’ve no doubt there are other Chinese troops here at other locations within Canada.

There is a national radio network already established allowing people with inexpensive FRS, GMRS and CB radios on their respective channel 3’s to establish local communications networks with HAM radio operators to pass traffic nationwide. This network is fully operational.
Have you not noticed National Guard Armories all over the place? Take a trip by small plane across flyover country. There are fighter squadrons in every Podunk with an airfield in places like Iowa and Nebraska let alone active duty installations all over. Naval Reserves are all over the coasts and even major rivers. They all have radios too.
I’m way more concerned with the BLMers they caught with Chicom machine guns. Three or four pickups decked out as Technicals with 12.7’s or 14.5’s emerging from a warehouse in the middle of Anytown would make serious shit. When coms go down shit gets done. Coms were always the biggest issue when I was in. Losing coms sucks, but that is what Operations Orders and fragmentary orders are for. We train for step-up/ step-down procedures and the best times we had great success were when we didnt have to stop every four fucking seconds to give some dickhead Colonel or General a second by second play of the tactical and operational actions. Their jobs are to worry about strategic objectives while leaving the maneuver to the maneuver unit commanders.
The biggest problem we have in the military regarding operations is the useless information gathering for some shit weasel pointer that thinks he is playing an RTS game and micromanaging his subordinate units.
I guarantee you that everyone in combat arms units knows exactly what to do when coms go down or leaders get kia: kill the fucken enemy and drive on until mission complete. We always factored in supply trains breakdown as well, which is why most units I was attached to carried a double basic-load of ammo plus full reserve on the company/ battery deuces and 5-ton trucks or hemmts.
If a power grid goes down whoopty fucken doo. Unless it is a neutron or nuke emp, some shit will survive, and most radio equipment has emp protection. The major problem the radios have was never survivability, but it was inability to transmit 5km away but being able to xmit/rcv over 20km to almost 50km. Go figure.
There are plenty of alternate coms methods that we were trained to use as well. Visual signaling first and foremost as well as hardwire, yes se still use reel to reel crank radios from WWII and I honestly think if we lost coms with higher hq we would be infinitely more effective as small units and full-size maneuver units.
Food and water breaks every army if there is none to be had. I realize that the generals would die without their hvac in the field, but I think we would adapt pretty fast in most cases of power grid damage. Remember: the enemy has to supply their shit too and the USA has more valuable land in the plains than the coastlines for the mkst part. And it is way fucking easy to pillage some fucken boot chink that was drafted and is wholly incapable of functioning without an instruction guide or a political officer barking exact commands at them.
Every Asian country I trained with suffered from inaction when their NCOs and Officers were taken out of the chain. They are trained to obey and not improvise. Hence the only real fear is specops units, but our vet community has a massive amount of specops that are very, very functional in homeland defense measures and these are men that can organize the most fucked up of Americans after having dealt with inbreds in the middle east for the last 25 years.
U.S. soldiers have always had to work with WTF scenarios in combat and training and it is pretty easy to adapt to it. I would be more worried about the civilians that will lose their minds if a grid went down and would turn on each other within 4 or 5 days.
Desperation is something all militaries fear and China has enough shit with all their unemployed, Africa, Taiwan and Japan willing to shit on them. Africans may be idiots in general, but they will go native real quick when the right personalities organize them and get primal rage going. JDF is pretty solid as are their naval forces and they have been tit for tatting with China for decades and never forget that Russia still has a plan in place for anything going through Mongolia or into Siberia from China. Most of the Russian troops I worked with back in the day hated China more than we did.
Never underestimate racial lines or nationalism when it comes to an actual war. When you fight for your home turf on your home turf it is completely different than all the shit shows we have participated in after the first Civil War. There’s no way in hell the Russians and Chinese are going to try to invade the US with the civilian population more heavily armed than their own troops (weapons per person). To top it off, nothing would heal the discord between the left and the right faster than foreign troops attempting to invade their neighborhoods. The whole idea is to get the Demonrat politicians to finally succeed in disarming the public. Until that happens, I don’t see any invasion force coming this way.
A lot of lefties would die off almost instantly.
