before everyone pops the champagne down in texas….gov abbott left one little grenade in his EO on the statewide mask repeal…..YES, it does away with the mandate at the state level…however…nothing in the EO precludes businesses from requiring employees or customers from following additional hygiene measures including “the wearing of a face covering“. and going by what i’m reading online… i’m willing to bet that 90% of major business retailers throughout texas WILL CONTINUE– at their own discretion– requiring wearing of face coverings by both employess AND customers. so to all the texans who think they are gonna roam around face free at the local grocery store next week…..they’re in for a surprise….imagine their shock when the MASK REQUIRED signs are still on the doors and in the windows. and even if some stores stop with the mask insanity….the local karens won’t.
