It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get rich more easily by graft than by work, and your laws no longer protect you against them, but protect them against you … you may know that your society is doomed.
Ayn Rand

She was a smart woman and a brutal realist. IMHO. I first read Atlas Shrugged when I was 15 or 16. John Galts speech affected my world view for life. Now 45 years later, it seems almost prophetic.

The hallmark of authoritarian systems is the creation of innumerable, indecipherable laws. Such systems make everyone an un-indicted felon and allow for the exercise of arbitrary government power via selective prosecution.
Ayn Rand

Ol’ Remus liked her as well I believe.

Born, raised in Virginia, I’m well attuned of the southern black. I made my life in Ca. where my children were born and now my daughter, son in law, and grandson are selling their home in San Diego and moving to Tennessee. My son in law is everything any father would want for his daughter. Ex Marine, sought after engineer, mid 6 figure provider. Nevertheless there are one or two things this old man knows that he doesn’t. I’ve explained to him that the southern black is much different than the western black. Western blacks are who they are, no pretense, what you see is what you get. In contrast southern blacks are much more nefarious. They will feign obsequiousness when it’s to their advantage and then strike out like a cobra; lightening fast with deadly results. I hope he takes what I told him to heart.

Hey Quiet, you’re quite correct. I was born, raised in San Diego county. Worked with blacks in the military, ship yards, tree service. Only had problems in the military (don’t know where those blacks were from). West coast blacks (not ghetto blacks) were regular folks. Now in middle western Tennessee, I find that blacks are different here. Been here over 6 years, red neck in training to be hill billy.

Although this video was posted apropos of nothing, the timing is serendipitous because I recently felt compelled to learn more about this profoundly important philosophy.

I’m going to listen to it repeatedly until the lessons of it permeate my thinking and my ignorance vanishes like those citizens participating in the Carousel of Logan’s Run in a flash of Renewal, destroying them.

As Benjamin Franklin so famously said when asked by a young woman which political philosophy he had given the nascent country, “A Libertarian one based on the perspicacity of Ayn Rand, madam, if you can grok it.”

Rand was a very intelligent albeit degenerate witch who masked moral relativism with the philosophy of individual freedom. She attacked American Christian values , community and tradition from the Right whilst her Bolshevik kinsmen attacked from the Left. Disunity creates chaos. Chaos lead to collapse. And here we are. No longer a nation of One under God. Tribe up or die.

“I am primarily the creator of a new code of morality which has so far been believed impossible, namely a morality not based on faith, not on arbitrary whim, not on emotion, not on arbitrary edict, mystical or social, but on reason; a morality that can be proved by means of logic which can be demonstrated to be true and necessary.

Now may I define what my morality is? Since man’s mind is his basic means of survival […] he has to hold reason as an absolute, by which I mean that he has to hold reason as his only guide to action, and that he must live by the independent judgment of his own mind; that his highest moral purpose is the achievement of his own happiness […] that each man must live as an end in himself, and follow his own rational self-interest.” Ayn Rand

Sounds like Kierkegaard as interpreted by a sexually repressed woman…

Spot on. Your quote is just repackaged Locke with God removed. Her ideas that hold up aren’t original to her, and the rest of it is just plain subversive.
