I wrote to a major airlines years ago that I would gladly pay more if they offered flights with a dress code. No T shirts, jeans with holes, thongs (shower shoes), wearing pants so low as to expose drawers. Basically slacks and sport coat for men and appropriate dress for women. Never a reply. Too bad, I figure lots would jump at the chance to fly that way again. It would cut out the riff-raff and lowest common denominator types. They could automatically achieve that by making all seats in coach economy plus.
Stop the TSA security theater and folks will stop wearing flip flops, etc. The whole stupid shoe thing is as absurd as the hygene theater still ongoing in businesses, etc.
Why I used to travel first class on trains before I got my first decent car. Shame I cant afford first class air travel. Just need to send any riff raff to the back of the plane where they can listen to music on their phones out loud

Old enough to remember when flying (for business) it was a pleasurable experience (for the most part). People had class, professional edicate and respect. Now, it is like a flying greyhound bus through the lowest socio-economic levels in society.
