We are traveling at this present moment over a tipping point in this nation. I’m in agreement with those that say there is no going back to where or what we were. The Constitutional Republic as founded is dead. Rule of Law is dead. The “United” States are no longer united. There will be a Balkanization, by what means and over what period of time is the uncertainty. Fast and brutal like Yugoslavia or slower decay and dissolution like the Roman Empire’s decline into the dark ages. It’s time to get out of Blue States on both coasts. While I don’t think opening with a pledge is the end-all way to begin a public meeting, some sort of group focus on the underlying purpose for their gathering, i.e., the public good, brings a meeting into good order. It is why the commander calls the ranks to attention and order before telling them what to do.
These sort of patriotic outbursts could become a real thorn in the side of the totalitarian regime now assuming control at an astonishing rate. When people start getting arrested for singing a song in public or saying a pledge to a symbol they respect, the eyes of the world will be upon USA and tears will be falling along with Babylon.

I think you are right, because the country needs a good long period of synthesizing a workable value system for the emerging cultural revival. The division will resolve itself as people converge on some common ideas and values. We can hope a Christian nation will emerge, but the present generations of heretics would probably inhibit that. All I know is that sometime starting before I was born, the American culture was already dismantled. It must have been late 19th century or even all of the people removed from the gene pool in the war of northern aggression. The proper protocol when the National Anthem is playing is to face the flag and put your hand over your heart or salute if in uniform. I’m not sure where the flag is located and did not see it in the video, but those players with their hands over their hearts could have been facing it, but most were looking down.

He agreed. The conversation kept going and then he started bitching about Trump. I asked the old fucker how he came out on his income taxes, stating that I had a modest tax reduction from the previous year. The old fucker gave me a dirty look and walked away.

Personally I fly the Betsy Ross flag when I fly a flag at my home. Get some High School kid to start reciting the Declaration of Independence and I’ll be in the front row cheering him on as that has words that represent something of substance separate from the Empire we have become.
