‘The dope fiend lean’ a result of nodding out on heroin possibly mixed with benzodiazepines. They are asleep but sem-conscious hence the standing while bending over, head down stance. I sometimes think that all those zombie movies were predictive programming.

My cousin (now dead) was so addicted to oxycontin he could eat ten of them and zone out for a couple hours and stumble around looking for his bottle to eat ten more.
His poor traumatized wife/widow is remarried with a new child, brother to Huck now renamed, thanks be to God.
Drug addiction destroys families and in every single case, it was enabled by a doctor at the beginning. Those doctors were incentivized (bribed) to get people addicted.

There are many people out there with serious and permanent pain issues. My neighbor, a former roofer, fell off two stories and is seriously messed up. His issue is not being able to get prescription pain meds from the doctors.
Most cocaine users got into it from their good friends, not the doctors. I recall having someone offer me cocaine and I said no, they pushed, said just rub some on your gums. Why do that? said I. It makes your gums numb said he. Why do I want numb gums? He persisted and I told him to piss off. Lots of drug addicts are made by their ‘friends’ and not the doctors. Addictive personalities will always find something if they’re not careful.
