It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. Really? I know this site is pretty crackery, but really?
Thanks for the nice trip down memory lane. Sucks that I’m old enough to remember most of those things
Quit complaining…..I remember them all!
wasn’t that Nick Nolte in the white jeans catalog ad??
And the other guy looked like Harrison Ford’s brother.
You mean Tennessee Ernie?
Looks like Putin playing the piano at the formal ball!
I thought the same thing.
Every day was ‘Darwin Day’ …
Roller skating girls on a swing got a laugh. We used to swing as high as possible, then bail out = fun! Also fun, the big tetter-totter when you get off quick at the bottom and the other person does an air drop. Also fun, filling big balloons with propane, then at a bit of a distance throwing lit firecrackers at them.
I got your Chicko Stick right here, honey.
I remember those!!! Remember Black Cows and Licorice and Bazooka Bubble Gum???
I spent hours, days transferring the rolodex information to my computer back in the day. My computer crashed, all that information….gone. Kaput. Poof.
That rolodex was with me my entire career.
Mine is still standing next to my shop office desk though I haven’t looked at it in years.
I remember the “Big Hair” of the 80’s.
I remember the Muscle Car Era. I was a Teenager during that time period.
Yes, I remember film negatives. We would take our film to the grocery store where there was a little counter with envelopes. We would fill out the envelope and stick our film in it to send off to get developed. Does anybody remember Flash Bulbs & Flash Cubes??? Does anybody remember Kodak Instamatic Camera’s??? Does anybody remember Polaroid Camera’s???
The prom dance looks like Puttie playing the piano!
Been there. Done that.
I had one just like that, used to play it in church.
