You can buy a woman an iron AND an electric frying pan and she still won’t be happy. Just more horseshit from the Big Appliance Companies.
Iska, get her a Kirby! Every housewives dream.
Kirbys suck, even when the lady of the house doesn’t want to.
haha, i found one secondhand for 100 bucks once, gave it to my grandmother who had been buying new cheapo vacuum cleaners every couple years, she loved that thing. my mother inherited it and still has it, indestructible.
personally i hate carpet and dont have anything in my house that would use a vacuum cleaner but damn those were the best if you needed such a machine.
If it was every woman’s dream, I’d be rich.
Beer… for young’n old alike… funny but not funny…
Have to admit I do like a good pale ale… lager, not so much
Dad’s home-brew was good.
The last one, #15…over an open fire.
Lucky cigarettes!
To update their motto of “It’s Toasted” to the “New Normal” of 2022:
We’re Toasted.
A little past toast I suspect.
L – S – M – F – T … Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco was their motto … in the alternative, it was Loose Straps Mean Flabby T—–s …
I remember this except the Flabby word was Floppy:)
Recently found an old Life Magazine from 1961–hard to believe cigarettes were marketed as healthy, both preventing coughs and improving stamina.
Had a ’65 Volkswagen bug with bad starter. Parked on a downgrade for 6 months so I didn’t have to push so much. Finally put a pull cord on it so it could start like a lawnmower. Obviously didn’t have much compression..
Ah the good old days. Then came the Internet.
so true…
I regularly went to Peaches Record store while in college
Really liked some of The Cars’ tunes. Was into their songs for a while in the party years.
Anyone remember Paulina Poriskova? Model, S.I. swimsuit, circa 70’s?
I remember her stating that Ric Ocasek was a very handsome man. (ugh)
They might have even been a couple, possibly married.
But, look at the mug on that dude.
Now, I’m certainly no George Clooney, and have been rejected more than Brian Stetler of CNN, but…
I’m guessing Paulina’s vision was a bit flawed, or some other part of Ric was attractive to her. Ahem.
Meantime, enjoy one of my favorite segue songs, this one by The Cars…
YT better not have skunked me…”Moving in Stereo” HAS TO BE FOLLOWED BY “All Mixed Up”
(segue’s are outstanding 2-for’s…that naturally go together),
Similar to:
-Elton’s “Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding;”
-Journey’s “Anytime / Feeling That Way”;
-Boston’s “Foreplay / Long Time”
-J. Geils Band live: “First I Look At The Purse / Homework”
…you get the idea, and can certainly suggest one or two that Sudsy forgot about.
Cheers, and, enjoy.
Cars, Elvis Costello were regulars from the milk crates…
Who didn’t do this!?!?
Poriskova was in a movie with Tom Selleck … ‘Her Alibi’ (1989) … and she WAS married with Ocasek …
Benjamin Orr (Orzechowski) was a neighbor of mine — we grew up together in Parma Heights, OH … died way too early of pancreatic cancer at age 53 or so …
“sugar is a natural satisfier. it turns off your appetite faster than most foods.”
it does. the problem is that a few minutes later sugar turns the appetite right back on again.
As long as she gets the vacuuming done while she’s all full of energy, that’s the main thing. Then she can have a smoke.
and if she’s old or a kid, she can have a rainier
Sugar and carbs make you fat and then kill you.
Fat makes you thin and gives you a long life.
Then from now on, I shall eat only bacon and mayonnaise.
A young Liz Taylor for the win,
barely nudging out Jacqueline Bisset in scenes from The Deep.
My, oh my.
Such beauty in all the female forms that are attractive.
What era was it when the mothers and children were
Laudanum Addicts? Same era as when Coke contained cocaine?
Ah, the good old days. When men were men. And sheep were scared.
I want 2 decades of “Groundhog Day”. Around 1975-1995 on endless loop.
There was good on either side, but this bit was best for me.
This century has sucked so far IMO.
To the first two… skip the kid stuff, go directly to crank.
‘Weebles wobble but they won’t fall down’ A nephew got a set of those for his birthday when he was 4 or 5–included a little bus–of course the black Weebles were put in the back. We all got a laugh out of that.
I still have one of those Peaches wood crates…..
Damn, I’m old.
