Lots of reasons, IMHO. They have no alpha male role models; those have been banned by the Left. Few come from stable, two-parent families. They have been indoctrinated in school to believe lies, and taught how to feel but not how to think, so now find themselves skilless and unemployable. They have been singled out and ostracized just for being white and male. They have experienced media and gubberment propping up every other race, gender and orientation while denouncing theirs. They see nothing in their future but minimum wage jobs and a standard of living that’s a mere fraction of their parents and grandparents. All this at an age where their testosterone is peaking, yet the society they live in tells them their masculinity is “toxic” and they have “white privilege”.
They know their goose is cooked before their adult lives are even beginning. They are pissed, and they should be. But no resources or assistance comes their way; that kind of thing is reserved for minorities who have been “victimized” by their great-great-great grandparents’ generation. They have no one sticking up for them or helping guide them with their “young man” issues. With no productive outlet for that “get up and go” hormone coursing through their veins, in their frustration they turn to drugs, alcohol, and inevitably violence. Mental illness and violent extremist behavior is not far behind.
I’m not referring specifically to mass shooters – I’m referring to an entire generation of fucked up young men, and I see a LOT of them. The extreme mental illness and psychopathy in mass shooter individuals is rare, thankfully, but I think it all stems from the same roots.
My 19 year old nephew has been kicked out of the house by my in-laws for refusing to clean up his act. He was accepted into a trade apprenticeship program but refuses to participate. Mom hoped he might join the military and get a college degree; but not a chance. Not made of the right stuff anyway. He now deals dope and burner phones out of a motel, which to him is better financially than seeing a good chunk of a modest paycheck disappear in taxes that benefit anyone but himself. Like many young men, he is pissed and rightfully so, but he lives only in the now. Can’t see the long term or maybe just doesn’t want to see it. He’s not completely fucked up yet, but the writing is on the wall. All I can do is pray.

The reasons are multitude but begin with poor parenting. This can include lack of father or weak father and domineering mother; reliance on psychiatric drugs rather than discipline; no of supervision of internet activity/video games; no discipline their entire life; handed everything on a silver platter; lack of work ethic.

Look what happens today. The kid gets babies. The kid gets attention. The kid misbehaves, and gets no discipline. The mom panics that no discipline isn’t working, and gets the kid evaluated, and Lo and behold, the diagnosis is ADHD, etc. And things then get worse.
Had drinks with friends. One friend brought his grandson, who was a well behaved young boy, happy doing boy things. His grandpa said his mom has had him diagnosed as having ADHD. We were all disgusted, especially grandpa. Boys should be allowed to be boys, and left alone unless they cross a serious line, in which case a huge knot in their tail needs to be yanked. But nope, not how it works. These moms screech at everything, no matter how small, and yet do not do any actual disciplining. The boys never learn to be boys and never learn where real lines are, as they are screeched at non-stop, but with zero real discipline for any infraction, no matter how large. It is disgusting.

My parents friends and my friends parents had full authority to bust my ass if I stepped out of line, with another one coming when my Dad got home.
