Well, the only problem going Anon (it can happen both by accident or purposely) is that we who are here regularly don’t all actually know each other, but can call each other out on this site for things we say. But when someone goes Anon, we have to assume it’s on purpose because they don’t want the blowback. Not that they don’t get it, but it affects those who forget to put their user name when cookies are off for some reason.

About the “spire” visible from 150 miles?

What is the earth elevation of the alleged visible church/spire and what is the earth elevation of the 150 miles away vantage point?
If, according to the story, the church spire should be “80 feet below the horizon” would not a simple 80 foot or greater difference in elevation defeat this?
Like say the church is at the end of a rising elevation of enough feet for it to be visible “beyond the horizon”.

According to NASA’s equation for earth’s curvature, at 150 miles away, the curch should be invisable behind 2.84146 miles of curvature. You’d have to have that church sitting on a pretty big mound to see it from that far away. The fact that it’s still visible should bother you.

Next I see you do not understand the basic properties of a gyro or a Foucault pendulum. The F pendulum would only describe 360 degrees of arc at the North or the non existent S pole as the range of its daily arc is dependent on the latitude of it’s location. Airplanes and submarines use gyros to determine attitude. The gyro knows not that it’s on an airplane, a submarine, a small globe or a kitchen table. If any of the mounts rotated in space the gyro would maintain the original plane in which it was spun up.
There are some people who take issue with the premise of F pendulums. I don’t know enough to judge. But there’s no one who disputes the action of gyroscopes.
There are some smart nonies here and some not smart nonies here. That’s the rub against nonyism. Can’t tell the players without scorecard.

I finally found a copy in England of all places, and after some short but sincere internet conversations with him he actually sent me three signed copies (shipped them for free too) as he told me it was banned from most distributors.
Once I knew it was banned I wanted 6 more copies.
He was self-published then…I doubt that now. Here is his follow up. I agree with him 95% on his follow up…and the one chapter I didn’t is minor. He put some of his personal story in ‘Confusion In Christianity’ and one chapter was amazing as I had never thought of the doctrine that way.

One could argue that it is limited, but not that it is inutile.
And while I am certain I could not notice the precise difference between 430k and 450k, at no time have I ever been on a plane and been unaware that it was moving.
The only point either side could reasonably make is that none of us will ever know, definitively, the size, shape and configuration of our earthly plane. Theories are always open for debate.

I covered one part of my motive for being passionate regarding my position on F.E. in my initial post. That being, the THEORY that we inhabit a relatively microscopic piece of dust orbiting an insignificant yellow star in an ordinary spiral galaxy in a vast universe with billions of similar galaxies and many many more notable bodies gives some plausibility to a Creator-less existence.
After centuries of indoctrination declaring a vast universe, with us humans living on a ball in a heliocentric solar system. Can now be conclusively proven. Or disproven. And easily too.
Remember the explanation of no photos from space without CGI? That’s only true if the camera is in low Earth orbit where the International Space Station operates. One hundred to three hundred-fifty miles above the surface. Look at your globe. See how wide East to West Indiana is? That is 150 miles. Put your eye at 150 miles above the surface of your globe. Ya can’t get much scope from that close. 350 miles is Indiana N to S. Try that distance from your globe. A little better but still a pathetic scope of vision. Have to glue strips together to get an entire hemisphere.
BUT! And it’s a Kardashian sized BUT! There are (supposedly) over 500 geosynchronous satellites 22,000 miles above the Earth. That’s 3,000 miles less than the circumference of the globe. Wind a string around your globe. That string would be 25,000 miles in scale to your globe. Cut off one end of the string the width of the U.S. You now have a string 22,000 miles in scale to your globe. With one end on the globe surface stretch it straight up from the surface. Put your eye at the far end and you have a very close to scale view of Earth from geosynch satellite’s position. You can easily see an entire hemisphere.

I have basic math/ science background. I do emphasize basic. I took Algebra 1, was allowed to skip Geometry to go right to Algebra 2, but that was the end. All of my high school focus was mostly on history. No college because I was smart. My thinking is pretty basic on this. Back in the early 60s, we were in the space race. Perhaps, the moon landing was staged simply so we could prove we were the first. Maybe we had better film stages and software than the USSR. It is what it is. I simply do not trust anything the government tells me or the mainstream media. Sometimes, I don’t even trust the clock on the wall. I’m not required to, although if someone else does trust theirs and that makes me late for an appointment, that could be an issue. Fortunately in retirement, there just aren’t that many appointments.
