His latest SITREP on 10/9/23, is interesting and, although long at almost 2 hours, it is worth listening to for the perspective of Iraq / Afghanistan vets.

I’ve never heard of this guy before, but I listened to the first hour of this podcast. For the most part I agree with what he says, although there were a couple of things I didn’t agree with. I will add him to my list of regular podcasts.

There is some contention about the wall. There are historical arguments that when the Temple was destroyed, the X Legion used the stones to build a barracks, and larger military fortification, and that wall >>may<< be part of that. However, there is little doubt there was a Temple on that mount. But, it also is more than just probable there was an earlier Temple in the City of David, which would have been used before the Temple of Solomon was built. One small item: one of the several requirements for a Jewish Temple (I'll not go into all as I'm not Jewish and likely don't know them all) is "living water" – basically, a running stream. The Spring of Gihon is in the City of David, and that likely would have supplied that early Temple. I mention that because archeologists in the 1980s discovered an aqueduct leading into the Temple Mount from the spring. So, while the wall may or may not be an actual Temple wall, it was made from Temple stones.
