First time our current dog was in a boat, she leapt out (we were going at a good clip) and started swimming to shore. Does not like boats.
Our male cat was the same with cars … hated getting into the car … first car experience was to the vet to get ‘fixed’ … even though he wasn’t really broken.
Bout time we ditched the cats………..thanks Mary !

Haha. I like cats too. We have 2 big dogs and 3 cats. They all live in the garage/shop. If the one of the cats takes the dog bed the dog lays on the floor.
Cats rule dogs drool and that’s the truth. Unless one of the cats gets near the dogs food bowl. Then it’s another story entirely. 😁

It depends on the dog…and the person. Relationships take all sorts of trajectories.
The world would be a better place if people were as trustworthy as dogs.
Don’t discount cats. I had 2 Siamese cats. INE lived until 16.5 years. The other lived until 18 years. Both loved and welcomed my friends; very affectionate. But when a knock came on my door, my cats literally GROWLED like dogs. And I’d take them out for walks without leashes. They’d never leave my side. People galked while driving past or walking by…..always got big smiles and enjoyment. My girls would lick me around my ears and forehead. They’d follow me to bed or to the bathroom. When I’d shower, they were always there beside me, talking to me through the curtain. They loved baths too. I trained them to not fear water when they were young. They were my children…..so many memories both happy, sad, joyous, and tumultuous. But they were what saved my sanity…..TRULY. It took me a full year of grieving to process their deaths.
No men…..cats don’t love you because of the food you give them. That’s not true at all. If you don’t have control issues; you don’t mind cats having their own independence, then they’ll automatically bond with you. It’s simple TLC and respect.

dogs are not “trust worthy”. They are predictable. Big difference. Their saving grace is that they are not evil.

My daughter just paid a small fortune for a engraved marble grave marker for her dog that died this summer. I liked dogs better before they became so expensive to maintain. I pointed out recently that cooking chicken breasts or chuck roast was more cost effective as dog food than the (refrigerated) fruh-fruh dog food at the grocery.
My neighbor used to push his drop-kick dog in a baby stroller….. Good Lord. That dog died of old age but the imprint of him pushing that dog is still in my brain. SMH
These are the reasons we now have 4 of the funny furry friends and 1 nice/sweet cat. They are comedians…

Chi’s are great. For the owner. If you want them to like other’s they are like a lot of other breeds, they need to be socialized.
Owned 4 Chi’s over the years. The current is a rescue. Love’s everyone especially small children. She’s the most outgoing of all the dogs I have had the pleasure of them sharing my company.
You realize, of course, that you have a unicorn…right?
