Following major wins last year in the Netherlands, the farmers’ tractor protests have managed to secure another significant victory against the globalist agenda.  European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Tuesday the withdrawal of a contentious law that aimed to reduce the use of pesticides across the European Union, marking the first defeat of the Green Deal.

She has also scrapped plans to require the agriculture sector to cut methane and nitrogen emissions by a third by 2040.  Breitbart reports: Brussels is also set to backtrack on plans to cut the use of pesticides in half during the same time frame, which farmers have argued puts them at a disadvantage to foreign agriculture imported into the bloc under free trade deals at cheaper costs due to their countries having less stringent environmental regulations than the EU.

Plans to encourage Europeans to eat less meat, a central theme of the Great Reset movement favoured by elites, have also been abandoned.  Commenting on the move, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen said per The Telegraph: “Our farmers deserve to be listened to.”

“I know that they are worried about the future of agriculture and their future as farmers. But they also know that agriculture needs to move to a more sustainable model of production so that their farms remain profitable in the years to come”, she told the European Parliament.

However, it is unclear if the concessions made by Brussels on Tuesday will suffice to quell the anger of the farmers, given that they still face over-regulation at both the national and EU levels as well as facing issues from cheap foreign produce, notably from Ukraine, which was granted tariff-free access to the EU market following the Russian SMO.

The farmer protests against the EU’s Green Agenda, which began in earnest four years ago in The Netherlands, have seen major cities such as Berlin, Brussels, Paris, and Rome blockaded by thousands of tractors over the past month, causing supply chain issues and disruptions to urban life.

Yet, the farmers have a broad base of support, with a recent poll finding that nearly 90 per cent of French voters believe that their tractor protests are justified.  The support for the farmers has sparked panic among the neo-liberal factions in Brussels for fear of turning the upcoming European Union Parliament elections in June into a referendum on the failures of the Green Agenda.

In addition to hurting farmers, it has also been regarded as having left Europe vulnerable to external events, like the war in Ukraine, driving up the cost of energy in Europe where domestic fossil fuel production has largely dried up in favour of so-called renewables like wind and solar, which have failed to deliver on promises of energy independence.

While the retreat on Tuesday has been widely regarded as a victory for the farmers, some, perhaps sensing blood in the water, are keeping pressure on the EU leadership.  Dutch pro-farmer political activist Eva Vlaardingerboek said: “This is good news because it shows that protesting works and putting pressure on our overlords works. However, dropping the requirements for 2040 is not enough. The entire agenda has to go. The Green Deal and the NetZero scam have to go. The-sun.com reports: Rose highlighted how doomsday prepping has become popular among billionaires such as Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman, along with pro athletes, and other elites.  The gold group’s CEO said he has inside knowledge of these people spending their fortunes on gold for prepping.  He’s spoken to people from all over the country who opened up to him about the truth behind their purchases.

Hoarding gold and ‘doomsday prep’ has been on the elite’s mind for years.  Tech boss Altman told The New Yorker in 2016, “I prep for survival. … I have guns, gold, potassium iodide, antibiotics, batteries, water, gas masks from the Israeli Defense Force, and a big patch of land in Big Sur I can fly to.”

Among the reasons are the 2024 presidential election and a recent AT&T power outage which has fuelled doomsday concerns.  “One intelligence officer told me today that the AT&T power outage was not an outage, it was a cyber attack,” Rose said.  “That’s a concern that people have. And, coming up to an election, a very tumultuous year, we don’t know what’s going to happen.  But many people are speculating there is going to be an attack on the power grids and no power causes chaos, chaos causes panics, panic causes sell-offs in the market. “

GEOPOLITICS 2024 – IS THE WORLD FALLING APART?

British involvement, only two days after Macron’s shocking statements, HMG effectively bragged about helping the Kyiv regime forces fight the Russian military.  This includes the direct involvement of the UK’s General Staff, headed by Admiral Tony Radakin, in the potential destruction of Russian naval assets, primarily targeted against the Black Sea Fleet.

THE WORLD IS WITNESSING Terrible Images of Civilian Suffering in the Middle East

“Creating instability in region after region, the Americans want, so to speak, controlled chaos. However, I don’t think they know what they are doing,” Lavrov said. The [Russian] president said at a plenary session of the World Russian People’s Council last November: “The dictatorship of the lone hegemon is on the decline and it’s simply dangerous for everyone around. Every day, we see more confirmation of this assessment”, the top Russian diplomat noted.

According to Lavrov, Russia and its numerous foreign partners, are convinced that the West’s attempts to perpetuate its unilateral advantages in international affairs are bound to fail. “The emergence of a multi-polar and fairer world order, designed to ensure the implementation of nations’ natural right to decide their future and choose their development path, has been a key trend in global development for more than a decade,” he stressed.

“This trend is reflected in the emergence and strengthening of new centres of power in Eurasia, the Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Certain countries, as well as many associations, show their practical independence in implementing the decisions they make as they call for making international relations more democratic and providing all mankind with the opportunity to use the material and intellectual resources that our planet has to offer,” Lavrov emphasised.

And of course, Lavrov is exactly over the target.  Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech to the Federal Assembly in Moscow and warned Western nations of attempting to start a war with Russia. Putin said:

“The West has provoked conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and other regions around the world while consistently propagating falsehoods. Now they dare to say that Russia harbours intentions of attacking Europe. Can you believe it?”

Then he spoke about what Western powers are attempting to do when Ukraine loses the war, “and at the same time, they are selecting targets to strike on our territory and contemplating the most efficient means of destruction. Now they have started talking about the possibility of deploying NATO military contingents to Ukraine.”

Putin mentioned what happened in the past when former European empires, such as Napoleon’s France and Nazi Germany, attempted to invade Russia and they were both defeated as a result.  Putin made it clear to Western powers that there is a new Russia that has the capability to cause severe damage to the European continent:

“Today, any potential aggressors will face far graver consequences. They must grasp that we also have weapons – yes, they know this, as I have just said – capable of striking targets on their territory. Everything they are inventing now, spooking the world with the threat of a conflict involving nuclear weapons, which potentially means the end of civilisation; don’t they realise this?”

The problem is that these are people who have never faced profound adversity; they have no conception of the horrors of war.  Even the younger generation of Russians have endured such trials during the fight against international terrorism in the Caucasus, and now, in the conflict in Ukraine. But they continue to think of this as a kind of action cartoon.

Putin is correct, the Lindsay Grahams and Emmanuel Macrons of the world are delusional politicians who don’t know what it means to be in a real war.  Wars destroy countries, just look at what happened to Iraq, Libya, and Palestine, US-NATO supports Israel and has created all hell on earth for the civilians in those countries, who suffered the most, and many of them had to leave, thus creating refugees in the process.

The Warfare/Welfare Western Powers are headed for annihilation in the coming decades.  It might be a nuke disaster, an economic cyber-attack scenario, or disease X.  However, whatever the elite planners decide, it must happen someday unless the West comes to its senses in the name of humanity. INFLATION MONITOR

Chancellor Hunt said on Wednesday that inflation was set to fall below the Bank of England’s 2% target “in a few months”, easing the cost-of-living squeeze.  This looks like a big fib and I can prove it.

Core Inflation is a crucial measure because it’s that which the BoE uses to guide interest rate policy.  It is considered an indicator of underlying long-term inflation.  Core consumer prices in the UK increased 5.1% in January 2024 over the same month in the previous year.  The Core Inflation Rate is expected to be 4.5% by the end of this quarter, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts’ expectations.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) determines inflation by calculating the prices of a fixed basket of goods. Core inflation removes the CPI components that exhibit high volatility.

In the long term, the Core Inflation Rate is projected to trend around 3.80% in 2025, according to econometric models.  It doesn’t look like the rate will fall to “below the BoE target of 2%” any time soon. 

SURVIVAL MONITOR

A pithy summary might be “by producing more than you consume and saving the difference.”  This means doing whatever you can to increase your income while simultaneously cutting your expenses. It may mean taking a second off-grid job, starting a business and abstaining from lattes at Starbucks. It means cutting out smoking (go to vapes) if you smoke and pricey cocktails. It means not following fashion. It means not keeping up with Joneses as well as owning functional transport, bought for cash, not glitzy new things that are financed or leased.”  The latest industry statistics reveal that over 1.6 million people now lease a car in Britain which means between 20%-30% of all new cars are leased in the UK.

“There’s no way around it. If you want to be self-sufficient you need to build capital. You do that by producing more effectively and consuming less. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary. The Chinese became wealthy by saving 50% of their incomes in recent years. You should put aside at least 10% of everything that comes in the door—come hell or high water.”

I had a small holding in rural SW England for 25 years and I shall be writing more about how it was achieved and how it worked in such an unfriendly country.  You don’t have to own land, there’s so much space in South Africa, for example, that I have written about in Survival Monitor.  Most unemployed people are economically active, under the radar, and off-grid.  Doug talks about ‘employment’ or ‘jobs’ but for me this is ‘corporate wage slavery’

General advice often encourages reducing your debts but I propose the opposite view – do as the bankers and governments do – borrow as much as you can and spend it on productive units.  If you don’t own anything, they can’t take it away from you, and in effect when you pass from this world, you will be taking your debts with you.  For me, this is a big win but you may need an informed adviser, which is what I did as a volunteer with the Citizens Advice Bureau in the 1990s.  “Own little, use a lot”
