There are a lot of good war songs, my two favorites are ‘Barry McGuire – Eve Of Destruction’ and the ‘Animals – Sky Pilot’.
But the best anti-war song is Country Joe McDonald The “Fish” Cheer/I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag” – Woostock
In my opinion, he has a much better one. Country Joe put music to several poems of Robert W. Service. These were recorded on the album “War! War! War!”. This one haunts me every time I listen to it, The March of the Dead.
Isn’t it rather ironic that back in the 60’s and 70’s, it was the liberals, hippies, peacenicks and Democrats which were protesting the Vietnam War with most conservatives fully behind it. Now the tables have changed and completely reversed. Now it’s your Democrats that are fully behind funding any and all conflicts. Everyone thought after the Vietnam War disaster, we would have learned our lessons but obviously not.

At least my congresswoman – Ilhan Omar voted against the FISA 702 (spying) renewal AND the foreign military aid bill.
All of those ‘protests’ against the Vietnam war were begun by a handful of career malcontents … jerry Rubin, Abbie Hoffman, bill ayers & Bernardine dohrn (notice a pattern?) … they wanted to destroy stuff, not do anything positive or constructive … and even the criminals among them literally got away with murder.

I saw Satch 3 times in the early-mid 90s, including a New Year’s Eve show in 93-94 with Gary Hoey & Robben Ford – that West Coast tour may have given him the idea for G3
Now that is a good live performance recording (and particularly, the performance itself). No way that was recorded without access to the mixing board directly.

FWIW isn’t a war song, neither pro or antiwar. It’s really about a little popcorn fart “riot” on the Sunset Strip that amounted to nothing. Listen to the lyrics and you might conclude that it’s a silly song about nothing, though the music is kind of nice, in a way.
