OLDIE BUT GOODIE: 30 BLOCKS OF BACK TO SCHOOL

Most of my 30 Blocks of Squalor articles were accidentally deleted in 2019. Avalon stumbled upon this classic from 2017. She read it to me out loud and I laughed at a number of pithy observations. West Philly did bring out my creative side. If anything, Philly is worse seven years later. Enjoy this throwback to the good old days of TBP

“The problem isn’t that Johnny can’t read. The problem isn’t even that Johnny can’t think. The problem is that Johnny doesn’t know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling.”Thomas Sowell

Over the last few weeks there have been a couple mornings where the Schuylkill Expressway was jammed and I had to take my alternative route through the 30 Blocks of Squalor. I hadn’t had this inspiring dystopian experience all summer. There is nothing like West Philly when the punks, punkettes, and future prison convicts finish a summer of not working, not reading, and not picking up the trash in their neighborhoods, go back to West Philly High and not learn again. The observations will be rehashed in a stream of consciousness format, as West Philly is a smorgasbord of squalor, sordidness, filth, apathy, crime and epic government incompetence.

Bill Gates is Full of Himself – You Cannot Wipe Out All Viruses for they Exist Also in Animals

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

As long as these Vaccine Companies are all in Geneva with Diplomatic Immunity, above international law, there is NO MRNA vaccine that I will ever accept. These people have proven themselves to be liars and promoters, as well as bribing politicians to make their money.

How Do You Actually Fix Gut Health?

Via Mercola

Story at-a-glance

  • Gut health plays a crucial role in nutrient absorption, hormone balance, energy levels, mood, and inflammation
  • A healthy gut typically involves regular bowel movements (1-3 times a day), minimal skin issues, and the ability to enjoy a variety of foods without discomfort
  • Your gut lining regenerates every three days, and your gut microbiome can change daily based on diet, suggesting that lengthy gut healing protocols are unnecessary
  • Hypothyroidism can reduce stomach acid and other digestive juices, leading to bloating, constipation, and food allergies due to its effect on gut motility and enzyme production
  • Maintaining a good energetic state is crucial for gut health, as systemic energy production influences digestive processes and microbial balance in the gut

Gut health is incredibly important for our overall health and the state of our gut plays a huge role in how we respond to foods and the environment, how we absorb nutrients, hormone health, our energy and mood, systemic inflammation, and so much more.

This Week in the New Normal

Via Off-Guardian

Our successor to This Week in the Guardian, This Week in the New Normal is our weekly chart of the progress of autocracy, authoritarianism and economic restructuring around the world.

1. “Biometric Payments Will Keep You Safe”

There’s a big push on the biometric payment issue at the moment, with numerous platforms and outlets talking them up as the next big thing.

This piece in TechRadar from April 29th is the best example, claiming that PayPal is “battling the beast” of online fraud, and that biometric payment systems using fingerprints and face scans will help keep us all safe from hucksters, charlatans and Nigerian Princes:

I am exhausted from Watching the West Self-destruct

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

As a former postgraduate member of Merton College, Oxford University, I receive every year from Merton College a thick, well prepared report replete with color photos titled Postmaster and the Merton Record. The report provides a thorough report on everything associated with the college and present and past members as reported during the year. For example, undergraduate performance and prizes, publications and awards of faculty, concerts, the performance of the various sports teams, social events, reports of marriages, deaths, births, remembrances from past graduates, photographs of the college, gardens, and members, and books on the library’s shelves as if to say that here at Merton we still have the timeless products of Western Civilization in print form on library shelves instead of online somewhere in the cloud.

Systematic Review Reveals Many COVID-19 Vaccine Recipients Experienced New-Onset Psychosis

Authored by Naveen Athrappully via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

Individuals who took COVID-19 vaccines were found to have later suffered from psychosis, with Pfizer and AstraZeneca shots linked to most of the cases.

The peer-reviewed systemic review, published in the Frontiers in Psychiatry journal on April 12, examined cases of new-onset psychosis among people who took the vaccines. Psychosis refers to symptoms that occur when an individual has difficulty differentiating between reality and fantasy, with hallucinations and delusions being two key types. The review looked at 21 articles describing 24 cases of psychosis symptoms following vaccination. The researchers concluded that “data suggest a potential link between young age, mRNA, and viral vector vaccines with new-onset psychosis within 7 days post-vaccination.”

Fed Cornered – There’s No Way Out!

From Peter Reagan for Birch Gold Group

The latest information from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) shows that the Federal Reserve is caught between a rock and a hard place.

Just before their latest meeting, CNBC reported that not much would change, and summarized the “feeling in the room” regarding Fed rates:

“Pretty much everybody on the FOMC is talking from the same script right now,” said Guy LeBas, chief fixed income strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott. “With maybe one or two exceptions, policymakers pretty universally agree that the last few months of inflation data are too warm to justify action in the near term. But they’re still hopeful that they will be in a position to cut rates later.”

As you’ll read shortly, that summary was fairly accurate. However, being “hopeful” about the possibility of cutting rates “later” raises some doubts.

Choosing Your Immigrants

Guest Post by Jeff Thomas

In the 18th century, America was made up primarily of people who, of necessity, had had to work hard. Had they not taken full responsibility for their own welfare, there was no one else to do it for them and they would have starved. As this was the case, anyone who did arrive on American shores who was unwilling to work and wanted others to provide for him, could expect to find no sympathy and might well starve.

In the 19th century, the former colonies had become the United States. Expansion was underway and the young people of the 18th century became the entrepreneurs of the 19th century. In order to continue to get the menial tasks accomplished, millions of immigrants were needed. Those who were welcomed were those who were prepared to start at the bottom, often live in poor conditions, receive no entitlements and compete for even menial jobs. If they accepted these terms, they received the opportunity to immigrate and work.

Six Reasons Why Tulsi Gabbard Is Donald Trump’s Best Choice As A Running Mate

Authored by Richard Truesdell via American Greatness,

Despite the unprecedented and coordinated lawfare deployed against him, Donald Trump has emerged as the Republican presidential front-runner.

Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat who is both a centrist and moderate (by today’s definitions), has emerged as his most compelling and logical selection to be his running mate. I base my analysis on six compelling factors.

Reason Number One: She’s a woman. Let’s face 2024’s political reality. To have any chance to grab his fair share of suburban female voters in crucial swing states, Trump almost definitely has to pick a woman. While I once thought Kristi Noem would have been a great running mate, she committed political suicide last week with a puppy-killing narrative that ended any hope of that, especially after mainstream media gaslighted her in their attempt to destroy her. That narrative will never go away. Neither will the salacious reports that she had a not-too-secret extra-marital affair with Trump-aligned political consultant Cory Lewandowski. Gabbard has no such liability.

Moscow ridicules Zelensky’s claim about God and Ukraine

Via RT

Such comments can only be described as a result of a “drug overdose,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman said

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has apparently lost touch with reality, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova suggested after the Ukrainian President described God as Kiev’s “ally” in the conflict with Moscow.

On Sunday, as Orthodox Christians celebrated Easter, Zelensky issued a video address in which he accused Moscow of “violating all the commandments,” claiming that “God knows it.”
