The Mainstream Has Made the Generations Conversation a Farce
Strauss-Howe, the New York Times, and Turchin’s Return

– Strauss & Howe, The Fourth Turning, 1997
Civilizational Disintegration and the Universal State
One of the most conspicuous marks of disintegration…is a phenomenon in the last stage but one of the decline and fall, when a disintegrating civilization purchases a reprieve by submitting to a forcible political unification in a universal state. – Arnold Toynbee, A Study of History, Volume IV: The Breakdowns of Civilizations
This is a Conflict of Visions
Where visions conflict irreconcilably, whole societies may be torn apart. Conflicts of interests dominate the short run, but conflicts of visions dominate history. – Thomas Sowell, Introduction to A Conflict of Visions, 1987
The Left and the Quest for Cosmic Justice
Many of those pursuing a vision of cosmic justice simply take an adversarial position against traditions, morals, and institutions that make the survival of this civilization possible. – Thomas Sowell, The Quest for Cosmic Justice

The War Over American History
The roots of today’s symbolic war over the teaching and meaning of American history go back decades, and have passed the point of irreconcilable differences. Here’s to those devoted to keeping the patriotic, truth-based side of this battle going. From July 2021.
Happy Memorial Day.
