Can the Government Deduce Your Religion Without Asking?

Guest Post by Scott Adams

I’m hearing a lot of chatter about President Trump potentially creating a “Muslim registry,” which, as it turns out, already exists. The current system only registers non-residents from certain countries. But how hard would it be for the government to figure out all of our religious beliefs – citizens and non-citizens alike — without asking?

My guess is that the government already uses Big Data to determine our religious beliefs and more. Consider all the information they have.

Notes from a Lost America: Chuckie Manson, Thor, and the Ark. Average Day in California

This is a reprint of a column from long, long ago. I do it not from laziness, though I am fond of laziness, but because it may provide a window into a happier America that we will not see again. These days, we need any cheer we can get.

In the year of the Great Radioactive Goat-Curd Craze and Flood-that-Wasn’t, Matamoscas was just another sleepy California town in the high desert near Barstow. The only geographical feature of note anywhere near was a low mesa called Las Pulgas, about three miles out of town where the Ark was.

Unruly Jet Blue Passenger Kicked Off Plane For “Accosting” Ivanka Trump – “Your Father Is Ruining The Country”

Tyler Durden's picture

According to reports from TMZ, an unruly Jet Blue passenger has been kicked off a plane this morning after “accosting” Ivanka Trump and “verbally berating her and ‘jeering’ at her 3 kids.”

Ivanka, Jared and their 3 children were departing from JFK when the out-of-control passenger apparently took issue with the fact they decided to fly commercial, and coach class at that…

“Your father is ruining the country.”

“Why is she on our flight. She should be flying private.”

What the chances that we’ll hear outrage from the left about this angry LGBT man verbally assaulting a woman and her children?

Ivanka

Some Christmas Presents For Our Liberal Friends

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

Some Christmas Presents For Our Liberal Friends

So, it’s Christmas time again, and your shopping is so much simpler since conservatives already have their present. We got ours when America laughed in Hillary’s face and rejected her in favor of Donald Trump.

Sorry, I just need to say that one more time because it feels so, so good.

America laughed in Hillary’s face and rejected her in favor of Donald Trump.

Oh yeah, that’s the stuff.

So, while we have the gift that keeps on giving – total control of the government – many of our liberal friends are sad. They’re despondent, confused, and a bit afraid at how things have turned out.

Oh man, this just keeps getting better and better.

Humbug

Guest Post by The Zman

I hate Christmas

That’s right. I hate Christmas.

Throughout history, at least since Dickens, guys like me get dubbed a “scrooge” or worse because it is assumed my animus toward the holiday is due to being cheap. Christmas is a gift giving holiday so if you don’t like the holiday, it means you don’t like gift giving. The only people that don’t like gift giving are tightwads and misers. The most famous hater of Christmas is, of course, old Ebenezer from A Christmas Carol, but Mr. Potter from It’s a Wonderful Life is a close second. Both are heartless misers of the first order, who are smote by Christmas.

MORE MAINSTREAM MEDIA FAKE NEWS

Guest Post by Ol’ Remus

The Associated Press news service, as policy, does not specify the race of a perp unless he’s white. When there is no description at all we’re supposed to believe none is available, which has become something of a wink-wink in itself. Recently the AP used an inventive dodge, “police did not release a detailed description”. How precious. Now even their coverups have a coverup.

Here are the particulars.

“Boy, 3, out shopping with grandma dies in road rage shooting” says this Associated Press news report from Little Rock, Arkansas. It continues, “Police said they were looking for an older black Chevrolet Impala. Police did not release a detailed description of the man who was driving it.” The last sentence seemed devious even for the AP, so I checked a source known for being more straightforward and complete, the UK’s online Daily Mail.

When asked last December what their attitude toward the dissolution was, of 1,600 Russians, 63 percent said they felt negatively about it.

Is Buyback Trickery Giving Us False Hope in the Market?

From Birch Gold Group

Over the past 5 years, companies have dumped over $2.1 trillion into a popular stock-boosting strategy that does nothing to help their businesses, but instead puts the economy in danger. The short-term payoff for using this strategy is huge, and it could be largely responsible for the market rally that we’ve witnessed over the past few years. But, recent news reveals that corporations could be taking it too far — and we all could pay the consequences.

It’s Amazing This Is Even Legal?

Imagine if there were a way for all companies to bolster the price of their own stock and make themselves look more profitable, regardless of how well they’re actually doing. It would make it impossible to know how safe the market really is, right?

The Bernhard Goetz subway shooting

On the New York City subway, Bernhard Goetz, a 45-year-old white male, shoots four young black men after they surround him and ask for $5. After wounding three of the unarmed men, Goetz pointed his gun at 18-year-old Darrell Cabey, who was not wounded but cowering terrified in the subway car, and said, “You don’t look too bad, here’s another.” Goetz then shot Cabey in the back, severing his spinal cord. Three of the youths recovered, but Cabey was paralyzed and suffered permanent brain damage.

‘Very dangerous’ supervolcano under Naples showing signs of reawakening

One of the world’s most dangerous supervolcanoes is showing signs of reawakening under the Italian city of Naples.

The Campi Flegrei may be nearing a critical pressure point necessary to drive an eruption for the first time in 500 years, according to scientists.

Researchers say the volcano is moving towards a threshold beyond which rising magma could spark the release of fluids and gases at 10 times the normal rate.

This surge would cause an injection of extremely hot steam into surrounding rocks, Giovanni Chiodini, lead author of the study, told AFP.

The Money Pit

Guest Post by Eric Peters

Tesla Motors just borrowed another half-billion. What was it the late great comic Sam Kinison used to say?

It never ends! Oh! Ohhhh!

Elon Musk’s electric car operation suffers from Lack of Profit. It is a problem for a business. Unless you have friends in government. Elon relies on these to fund his Iron Man fantasies, which encompass not only his electric cars – which are pretty and quick but preposterous as economic competition to internal combustion-powered cars – but also his very own privatized, for-his-profit NASA, SpaceX.

They make money in the same sense that the IRS has “customers.”

QUOTES OF THE DAY

“You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.”

Ray Bradbury

“Stuff your eyes with wonder, he said, live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.”

Ray Bradbury

“There is more than one way to burn a book. And the world is full of people running about with lit matches.”

Ray Bradbury

“We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?”
