Iceland has a long tradition of Nordic myths and folk tales, many involving spirits and animals transforming themselves into people. So, it’s not too surprising that a band like Of Monsters and Men would call their debut album, “My Head is an Animal,” and create a song like “Dirty Paws,” about an epic battle between the birds and the bees and a four-pawed beast that saves the day.
Man, that was relaxing and enjoyable!
Nice looking young people. Beautiful voices and skilled on the instruments. Love the accordion,
They have several other vids on youtube. Guess what will be playing on my computer the rest of the morning?
Big breasted porn?
“My Head is an Animal” is a pretty darned good CD. Most folks who listen to radio, or check out Admin’s music vids, have heard “Little Talks” and “Mountain Sound”. But I will testify that the whole album is good, maybe one or two clunkers. The disc spends a lot of time in my changer. One thing that confuses me-several songs (above included) make reference to woods or forests. Iceland has no forest. Other than indigenous stunted birch trees/shrubs, all the trees in Iceland were imported in the last few decades, and none are more than, maybe, 15 or 20 feet tall. It is weird-you can drive hundreds of miles without seeing anything green, then encounter what looks like a Christmas tree farm of closely spaced, uniform height conifers.

De nada.
Polka!
JK, Of Monsters and Men is one of my Pandora stations. It’s impossible to find a good clip of them playing live. Must be a lack of good internet connections out in the North Atlantic. The fiendish banksters plot takes another twist.
