TWO DOWN, THOUSANDS TO GO

I personally met the second TBP member that I hadn’t already known before the website existed. Admin and Hardscrabble Farmer met on campus yesterday and shared a pitcher of Yueng Ling beer while depressing my son about his bleak future.

Hardscrabble was in the area on business and we had the opportunity to get together. His story is fascinating and inspirational, as you all know from reading his posts. Him and his family are proof that you can just walk away from this materialistic, debt saturated, egotistical, banker controlled society and essentially live off the grid and sustain yourself.

It takes courage, an unbelievable amount of hard work, a supportive family and some luck to pull it off. Everyone has to ask themselves at some point whether they are really happy trapped in their existing lives. Is there a better path than the one set for us by society, our schools, the government, mega-corporations and the corporate media?

I believe him when he says he is happier than he has ever been in his life. How many of us can say the same thing. If enough productive, intelligent, critical thinking people went Galt, how long would this teetering edifice of debt, consumption, entitlements, and lies last?

I feel privileged to have created a place where Hardscrabble Farmer and all the other highly intelligent TBP contributors feel comfortable sharing their life stories and wisdom. I look forward to many more poetic Hardscrabble Farmer short stories about life in the slow lane.

The American farmer has been and will always be the backbone of this country.

Spot on, not very long at all, and probably the only true solution.

I struggle to find the balance of gloom vs. hope when I speak with my 20-year old college son. I want him to know what he faces in the future but don’t want to present a future with no hope–else he may not put in the effort and have the strength he and all millennials will need to recreate the world.

Rise Up,
I have the same struggle with my 20 year old son. He’s a very bright and hard working kid going into his 4th and final year for his Chemical Engineering degree. He will do well, but I have explained to him that the world is going to change dramatically in his lifetime, and not all for the good be as prepared as possible. I felt I should have instilled in him the need for practical knowledge as well as book knowledge. While I have a full woodworking shop and the knowledge to put it to good use, these things have never interested him, so I did not push it. I told him as long as he can distill things and blow things up he still has some practical knowledge.

Bob.

Pretty cool. So you’re saying people that post on TBP actually exist? I’m just hoping they put us all in the same FEMA camp, because surely we’re on an NSA list someplace. Patriots and truth-tellers are dangerous in a country run by fascist socialist criminals.

It’s always been fun getting to know some of the monkeys over the years. I miss Colma, and Howard, and a few others. There used to be more shitfests, usually dumbasses that wander by for a reaming. And the only way to gain the respect of the Admin is to engage in an epic shitfest, with all the trimmings, like he had with Billy the other day. Pretty hilarious.

AWD,

The FEMA Camp TBP’ers are sent to will have a gas chamber, as shit throwing monkies are a pain-in-ass.

THAT … (plus Admin’s articles) … is what I so love about this place.

If they had their way, they’d throw everyone in a camp and work ’em to death. How does it go again, intellectuals, teachers, journalists, business owners, and on and on till they get to little old ladies griping about the price of her next cat food meal. So, we’re all on the list – and in a long line does it matter if you’re closer to the front or closer to the back? Maybe I guess, but I don’t think so. Besides, the camp thing, I’m not so sure they’ll pull that off if it even exists. Seriously, look at their track record of running shit – now throw in chaos, mayhem, or just at the least heightened levels of regional turmoil. Fuck, these clowns can’t spell C-A-T without looking it up. Not that they won’t try, there’s my worry.
