“If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.” – Mark Twain
I’ve concluded we are run by One Party. Voting will change nothing. We are living in a corporate fascist warfare/welfare empire of debt run by billionaires and bankers. The Republican/Democrat kabuki theater is designed to keep the sheeple distracted and angry at each other. This keeps them from focusing on the oligarchs stealing them blind, luring them into debt, and using their children as cannon fodder in un-Constitutional wars around the globe. Since 2000 we have had Republicans in complete control and Democrats in complete control. No matter who is in charge, the welfare state and warfare state grows ever larger. The national debt has grown exponentially under both parties. Neither party will change the status quo because they are the status quo. It’s the people versus the state. We are on course for a financial, economic and societal collapse. Voting will not change this course.
I did not vote yesterday and don’t foresee ever voting again in my lifetime. I judge people by their actions, not their words. The actions of those we have elected have been reckless, corrupt, and disastrous for the future of my children. Homey don’t play that game anymore.
I would love to hear arguments for why I should vote.
Nope.
Voted already in North. Carolina. voted for the first time time there. You don’t need voter ID until 2016.
It is very apparent how easy it is to cheat. All those voter motor vehicle registered Democrats will be voting Tuesday. But none of the people will have to show up to have a vote cast for them.
Prediction: Kay Hagen wins the election with less then 45% of the vote.
Changing the voter ID law until 2016 is too little too late.
Both candidates for senator are on the same side…………..and that’s NOT OUR SIDE !! Will I vote, that’s a big HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL NO!
I vote, but only for 3rd party candidates. If you don’t vote, then they just assume you don’t give a shit. I guess by voting 3rd party, they probably assume I don’t give a shit either.
I’ll vote, in the off chance it keeps a reasonably good governor in office, or keeps out some particularly slimy Dems. No, don’t misread that as me being a Republican, I’m not, just capable of recognizing greater and lesser amounts of slime.
I’m reading about the voting machine “issues” this year, and I imagine that in many areas voting is entirely fixed. I don’t know if it works honestly in mine, but I guess I’m spending 20 minutes in the hope that it does.
I DON’T give a shit about maintaining the status quo.
They are just playing games with us.
How they must laugh at the spectacle.
BTW, when I got my ballot I was surprised to see a libertarian running against Hagan and Tillis. You’d never know that from the MSM following this election. For some reason we here in the melting pot of NC can’t seem to elect anyone other than a nutswinger for the GOP or a nutswinger for the DEMs. This guy Hough seems like a fucking moonbat, but I voted for him anyway.
Because the republicans will at least slow it down. Especially flooding the nation with millions of Third world bottom feeders .Abortion , homosexuals rights , gun rights ,property rights and most every other issue the democrats are godless , amoral , depraved Marxist. They are some of the most vile ,disgusting traitors in the nation. Most republicans are not traitors .So get off your lazy ass and go vote admin. I had to drive my FedEx truck 1500 +miles to get home so I could vote.
I’ll vote, but also for mostly third party as well. I figure the same as TC, I believe voting third party sends a……………………..Fuck, message, sending a message, now that I really think about it they probably don’t really give a shit one way or the other.
If nobody showed up to vote do you think politicians would just pack up and go home? Conundrum.
Nope.
At this point, what difference does it make?
Third party – across the board.
I would if I had the time , but I’ll be busy downing more productive things, like clipping my toenails and yawning.

“Every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods.”
H.L. Mencken
Russell Brand doesn’t vote? Good enough reason for me to vote. if nothing else, there are school board elections, state legislature elections, county commissioner elections, etc. It takes all of 10 minutes.
I get the feeling TPTB here in NC have just now figured out perhaps the people might be a little irritated.

This guy pretty much says the same as George Carlin. He is 100% correct.
=========================================================
It’s amazing to me, even after all this time as an anarchist, how people speak of the “right” to vote – said “right” being nothing more or less than a legal claim on something. Of course, government laws are nothing more than the opinions of bureaucrats backed up by the lethal violence of guns in the first place, but in the case of voting it gets even worse.
No one has any “right,” under ordinary everyday circumstances, to use violence or the threat thereof to control another’s life or property. In fact, each of us has a very serious moral obligation to not engage our fellow human beings in such a manner. Yet, cloak a cop or a tax collector or a politician in the magical, quantum-physics defying aura of government, and suddenly this becomes not only acceptable, but even commendable and necessary. Such is the intrinsic nature of the State.
Thus, by voting in political elections, a voter implicitly endorses this kind of immoral and intellectually indefensible behavior by proxy. No, Mr. or Ms. Voter, it’s not you specifically who holds the gun to the taxpayer’s head, throws the marijuana smoker into the jail cell, imprisons the peaceful owner of a certain type of weapon for life – and it may not even be the series of politicians you voted for – but in essence, by voting, by casting that ballot for the continuation of government, you are hiring hit men (and women) to do those things for you. You are endorsing the inherent violence and thievery of government.
Saying you have a “right” to vote only empowers government, not you or anyone else. Again, it’s like saying you have a right to hire assasins and thieves to give you what you want at someone else’s expense. This is never justifiable. Each of us has an obligation to not kill, to not steal, to deal with each other as co-equals in a open, honest, and peaceful manner. Even getting your name put on a voter registration list contravenes these essential principles of a free and prosperous society. If that’s you, consider not only ceasing and desisting from voting, but getting your name removed from the registration rolls. It’s not difficult; I know people who’ve done it with very little effort. Even that’s not the point, though.
You have an obligation to not vote. Own up to it.
.
There aren’t any libertarians or anyone else I want to vote for on the ballot in my state, so no I am not voting this year. However, the Hobbit 2 (‘The Desolation of Smaug’) extended edition DVD comes out tomorrow so I will be stopping to pick up a copy of it.
I say, ERECTIONS, not elections!
There’s an ad right here on TBP, just above the Donate button …. “These 3 Chemicals are Killing Your Erections”.
Has anyone here clicked on that? Llpoh and SSS would be the most likely candidates. Billy? Anyone?
(I would ask bb … but he fucks goats.)
George has it mostly correct, the good people don’t run because it’s mostly the psychopath’s that run for public office, and a fool to vote for them, seems we like to be lied to.
Voting is dumb. Not voting is even dumber.
@indiatlantic
Well said, is that like “damned if I do and damned if I don’t?
Hell yes Iam voting. I soaked money into Tom Cottons campaign. That fucking Obama loving Mark Pryor will be toast by 1930 11/4/14.
I’ll vote Tomorrow, if only to place a vote against having to look into the dark soulless eyes of sociopath Tom Wolf for the next 4 years.
I do vote on measures here in Oregon. Couple good ones this time around.
Old indoctrination dies a hard, uncomfortable for many, death.
I’m really torn. There are a couple independents running, but the vast majority of races are no choice – uncontested – or a choice between evils. Which one do you prefer to choke on?
So I feel why bother, then the guilt hits. I was raised to feel an inordinate amount of guilt which ends up shutting me down.
Which means I won’t vote as the guilt will hold me in shame at home.
Conundrum, no?
It truly matters not. It only matters whom counts the votes and you can bet it is people more worthy (wealthy) than I.
All I know is that my voice is perpetually drowned out by the unionists that inhabit my burg. Which means I always lose no matter what.
I learned long ago, if you bang your head into your crib, it hurts. To make the hurt stop you quit doing it.
I’m done with it, and await the inevitable bad things headed our way.
Don’t vote, let Reverend Jesse, Reverend Al Sharpton and their followers decide your fate.
Me, I will stick with Rand Paul and the Republican brand. I refused to be marginalized and sided lined. If you don’t stand up someone else will.
If you don’t mind the Senate confirming a Surgeon General whose primary qualification is his desire to implement gun control, then not voting is an acceptable course of inaction.
I’m voting. Like many here, I vote third party on the major elections as a way to show a growing level of discontent. I figure my vote is wasted, anyway, so might as well throw it to someone else to show that I don’t buy into the two-party system. The media still reports votes for third parties, at least for now. The more people do it, the more other citizens will take note and have the bravery to demonstrate their disgust with the status quo, as well.
On the local elections, Iska said it better than I could — it’s important to weigh in on the people who make decisions that often have a bigger impact on our lives than who sits in the governor’s seat. There are some that are good and need to keep their positions. There are a lot that need to be thrown out. Voting for school board, county commissioner, assessor, etc. are all pretty important for people who live outside large cities.
Regarding Brand: the idea of “democracy” is one of the things that got us into this mess to begin with. That statement leans a little too Red for me, anyway… there are a whole lot of people who shouldn’t be allowed to vote; only those of us with real skin in the game should choose who governs us. Otherwise, you have people who vote themselves all the free stuff they want and, well, we know how that has turned out throughout history. That’s why we were formed as a Republic.
Was I Wrong About Voting?
By Wilton Alston
November 3, 2014
“The fact that the party of organized money thinks the right to vote is worth taking away says that it must be worth quite a lot.” ~ Ryan Cooper from, The case for voting…
One of the things one must try to do in his spare time is keep somewhat current. And while I am absolutely certain my choice of reading material can leave a lot of stones unturned, I still enjoy reading periodic offerings from The Week, from which the above citation by Ryan Cooper is taken.
As someone who is on record repeatedly, vociferously, and often unapologetically, as a proponent of non-voting, the article piqued my interest. Would Cooper provide some logic, some morsel of truth that would convince me that my long-held view was erroneous? Would my voting-is-a-waste-of-time position—a position I relish sharing with such radical libertarian luminaries as Butler Shaffer—be shown, once and for all, to be erroneous? Would I have to print a stern retraction to my personal favorite [in name] piece, “I Don’t Mind If You Keep Voting, But Do You Mind If Keep Laughing While You Do?” Would the flak I took for publicly wondering, “Has Voting Ever Been a Right Worth Dying For?” now be in vain?
Well…nope.
It is not that Cooper does not make a compelling case. To the contrary, he does. It is for reasons that Cooper misses, or does not “get,” that my position remains unchanged and for me, valid. In fact, it is in the cited quote that the basis for my position is found. Certainly, one can ascertain that someone feels like voting is important, based upon the evil machinations undertaken to keep people from doing it. As Cooper so aptly put it, “the fact that [whoever] thinks that the right to vote is worth taking away says that it must be worth quite a lot.” (Let us, for the time being, not quibble with Cooper’s mischaracterizing the privilege of voting as a right. Rights, legitimate ones, do not infringe upon other people. Electoral voting in the United States is directly based upon determining how much one will infringe upon another, and in which ways. Ergo, it can only be a privilege, but anyway…)
With apologies for stating the obvious, voting is valuable to those who benefit from it—primarily political operatives and their worshipful plebeians. Because something is valuable to someone is no reason to assume that everyone should value it. That’s Subjective Value 101. However, there is more to it than that. Statist Criminals—or as Cooper refers to them, “the party of organized money”—value control and power above all else. What “they” obtain via the ballot box is authorization to use that power. (Cooper seems to believe that there is only one Party of Organized Money, but maybe that’s better left for another essay.)
They also obtain, via the ability to off-load both financial and moral responsibility, a get-out-of-jail-free card for any subsequent heinous activities. (Anybody heard about Bush or Cheney being charged with war crimes? Me neither. If you are a believer in “Hope” have no fear. Obama is safe too.) Not only is it true that no one deserves such power, more importantly, no one really benefits by taking part in a charade which has but a single purpose: To convince those who are being taken advantage of that they had a choice.
It is through voting that one generally obtains control of the Guns of the State. Some of us simply do not want to point those guns at anyone. And if you do, we’ll be damned if we will confirm that we are all culpable in the all-too-predictable outcome.
Some have said that voting is, “the suggestion box for slaves.” I tend to agree. Given that one cannot vote to not be a slave, taking part in such efforts remains a waste of my time. Others have opined that, “if voting changed anything, they wouldn’t let you do it.” This is also somewhat true, but also somewhat false.
What voting does is provide direct indication that he who took part supports the eventual outcome. That he believes in the contest at its root. So, while voting may not really change crucial parts of the outcome—for example, the United States would still have troops deployed in Iraq no matter who was currently in the White House—it makes the participant a willing one. Some of us have long since stopped being such. And we feel better for it, regardless of the outcome of some supposedly democratic popularity contest.
I’m in Minnesota. The Democrats have done a good job in loading up the state with queers / lesbo’s / welfare queens from Chicago & Gary / Hmoung / Somali’s / Liberians / and Spics.
Al Frankenstein and Gov Mumbles run pretty much unchallenged.
On Friday, there was a PBS sponsored debate between Repub Jeff Johnson and Gov Mumbles (Mark Dayton). It was sooo sorry there’s really nothing to debate about. Things are so fucked up it is impossible just to say: “Are you for more and more government?” It doesn’t resonate. The Dem’s raised our taxes by $3 billon last year. Gov Dayton says we now have a surplus. Gov Dayton proudly stated the we now have ‘All day Kindergarten’ – he didn’t say how much it cost.
And oh yes – we need more money to close the ‘achievement gap’. It doesn’t matter that Minneapolis spends $21,000 / yr on each pupil. We need more. Besides that the government schools have been in total control – forever – but, but they have a new plan. Seems the Asians, and the Latinos have assimilated, in less than 20 years – but the blacks…..
We are totally fucked in so many ways.
DUTCHMAN I up arrowed you for saying you are totally fucked in so many ways but…..will you vote for one of those twats?
I don’t have to vote, BO imported a Mexican national to stand in line and vote for me. I’m sure Barry did that to save me time and frustration. What a country !
Stucky , sensetti is the only goat fucker I know of .Of course he say he is not but thats typical of goat fuckers.
All who are not voting . Your children will be surrounded by violent third immigrants if you sit on your ASSES and not vote. You children and grandchildren will curse you for giving the republic to these Marxist son of bitches. The goat fucker is right. Vote republican so at least we will a chance of stopping these traitors.
There is nothing wrong about voting if done in correct manner. All It requires willing voters and some candidates for office. It also requires a tamper proof low tech voting machine. It’s called a gallows.
Remember to vote early and vote often. NAACP
Its two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner.
So, no, I wont be voting for any of them.
By spoiling your ballot you send a message of protest. By not voting you send a message of encouragement and safety to whoever has designs on your money and life. You should exercise your right to vote even if it is rigged, and do your best to ‘starve the beast’ at every opportunity in daily life. Not voting is an act of laziness and is a cop-out.
Voting is for mindless sheeple who still think they can change a corrupt system through the system.
Voting is an act of stupidity.
Thanks, Admin, for coming around to my point of view.
Both parties are beholden to the same master, and right now the neo-cons are still running the show. They assumed power in 2000 and Cheney is still running the show from Raven Rock, “Site R”.
We have one “government” for show, and another “government” in the shadows. For those interested in peeling back the onion skin another layer, the “shadow” government was ushered in by Cheney & Rumsfeld over the years disguised as “continuity of government” planning in the event of a nuclear holocaust. These plans were implemented on 9/11/01. Which partially explains why everything has been so “weird” ever since.
http://www.returnofkings.com/46721/why-american-men-should-refuse-to-vote
No one has made a legitimate fact based argument for why voting will change anything.
Nothing but protest bullshit that is meaningless.
Bernays was right. They still have you under control and thinking your vote matters.
IMHO the captured media will have an easier time declaring “low turn-out” winners over the admittedly slim chance that a third party candidate threatened the status quo.

But I claim the right to be wrong …
Ron Paul advocating voting and believes a vote counts. Is he a mindless sheeple?
Ron Paul urges Virginians not to vote for Libertarian candidate
One of the most influential Libertarians in American politics is urging voters in Virginia this Election Day to cast their ballot not with that party’s candidate, but for a Republican vying for the title of governor.

‘Twas I above
Anon- All who are not voting . Your children will be surrounded by violent third immigrants if you sit on your ASSES and not vote. Vote republican so at least we will a chance of stopping these traitors.
LOL…now that’s some funny shit , right there.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/11/03/Pat-Caddell-Higher-Orders-from-Other-Masters-Preventing-GOP-Establishment-from-Running-Against-Amnesty
Hours after Mitt Romney declared that Republicans should pass amnesty legislation if the GOP takes back Congress, Pat Caddell blasted the incompetent Republican establishment for being beholden to their “other masters” and not nationalizing the illegal immigration issue.
On Breitbart News Sunday, Caddell, the Fox News analyst and former Jimmy Carter adviser who long ago figured out that Americans were disenchanted with politics because they hated the permanent political class, said “Republicans have failed to put a race away” this cycle even though Obama’s numbers are so low and “there is such anxiety about the future of the country.”
“They are just like watching French and British generals in World War I,” Caddell said of the GOP establishment to host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon. “They learn nothing and forget everything. It’s amazing.”
