Bob was an incredible wordsmith. He painted with words.

The current generation may have such persons, but they need to become more visible.

The world is in crisis, and it is the young that need to roar. The old are deaf. They will hear only the loudest of shouts.

@ Llpoh,

My wife says she doesn’t like Dylan… but then, she’s German, so go figure…

Before Christmas, I decided to start rebuilding my music library. One of the CD’s I bought was Volume 1 of Dylan’s Greatest Hits… (along with the Who, the Doobs and the Allman Brothers… ).

Proud to say, my boy – just turned 14 – swiped my CD collection and is currently copying them for his own use… Dylan included…

Good choice, Llpoh… especially given what we’re currently screaming towards, full-throttle…

I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it
I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it
I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin’
I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin’
I saw a white ladder all covered with water
I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken
I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children…

Bob was ahead of his time..

Billah ain’t listened to nuthin but Billy Ray Cyrus (thus the nome de plume) fer decades. He dances to achy breaky heart over and over and over wearin nuthin but uh rancid jock strap he’s had since middle school. Billah is the biggest raving lunatic retard you ever laid yer eyes on, and you really caint believe uh word that comes out his halitosis ridden pie hole. He should be banished from anywheres there’s less than a 2 to 1 mongreloid ratio as his idiotic bravado is sumthin only a brain dead vegetable wallerin in their own hoo haw might appreciate.

BW, you used to be a sweet little thing, always putting up with a lot but now you sound like that old refrain, hell has no fury like a hillbilly.
Is everything OK? You could try being nicer, you catch more flies with your honeypot they say.

Saw Dylan at the Orange County Fair a few years back. Talk about zero stage prescience. Stage went black between numbers and he didn’t say boo to the audience start to finish. Weird, but I guess that’s Dylan.

Gotta blow off steam a bit, Wife & I are just back from Vegas where we saw Grand Funk Railroad at the Orleans casino showroom. She loves live concerts, so as a treat I bought 2nd row center seats (seating chart said 1st row disabled, no seats) and with the bullshit fees laid out around $130.
So we get there and the disabled section is moved one section to the right and there are 1st row seats. No problem since 6 seats in front of us are empty as the show starts.
Looks like it’s the original band; I’ve had a lot of experience music of that era and with producing audio the decibel level is about 1/2 again too high for the room. Almost painful with distortion.
About 1 song in, a blond Woman about 40 shows up and takes the aisle seat. We’re thinking “seat surfer” and the show goes on. 1 more song and this fat baldheaded guy in his late 30’s shows up with his equally-fat late 30’s GF. He’s holding a video camera and is leaning on the stage apron when he’s not seated with his bald head reflecting the stage lights and blinding me. Didn’t see a lanyard or any credentials. The policy for this venue is no cameras, period & they announce it before each and every of the 4 shows we’ve seen there. Anyhoo, this goes on for another couple of numbers, the guy is being obnoxious and now others are emboldened to whip their cameras out. Standing between my lady & I & the stage.
Being Scottish it take me a while, but I was starting to burn, so I get up, walk back into the lobby and grab one of the ushers/bouncers and tell him what’s going on. Seat surfers standing in a fire lane AND taping the show.
So he follows me back down front, has a look, and leaves. Doesn’t bother asking for their tickets or telling people to sit down.
Show degraded from there, more & more leave their seats and crowd the stage apron area, blocking the view and being obnoxious.
Any of you experiencing this sorta crap? I’ll be damned if I’ll go back and drop that kinda dough.

Westcoaster – we saw the Blue Man group in Vegas recently. Had a ball. Luck of the draw I suppose.

Once again, we dropped nary a cent into the gambling machines. No intention to ever go back to Vegas. Went to show the kids, but otherwise have no interest at all in Vegas.
