Tom Cotton Gets His Ass Handed To Him

At a Johns Hopkins University foreign policy event on Friday, Iraq and Afghanistan veteran and current Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) turned to ask Fred Boenig about the pins on his lapel. Fred Boenig, whose son committed suicide in Afghanistan in 2010, gave an answer Cotton was likely not expecting.

Watch the neocon mindfuk at work. We (not you … the majority) elect these people. We deserve what we got coming.

good video

I wish the dad would have grabbed the last word and refuted the “never-at-greater risk” bullshit.

It’s all a racket. They lie and lie and lie.

Cotton is a creature from Bill Kristol’s Israel uber alles swamp, like Sarah Palin, but smarter.

Tom Cotton did NOT get “his ass handed to him”.

The Taliban in Afghanistan was no danger to us either but they gave protection to Al Quaeda and Bin Laden who had space to plan and execute 911.

And By the way, we have a VOLUNTEER armed service. NOBODY is forced to fight. Our servicemen and women WANT to take the fight to the Jihadis.

This gold star papa sounds like Cindy Sheehan, who wanted her son to desert.

Phil Cicero- Sir you have it wrong- I understand why our kids join- the problem is do you understand exactly why we should chase guys in pickup trucks that can only capture sunni territo and have no way to actually get here or did you actually listen to the question posed by the editor of the Daily Ripple sitting next to me? There is a full video -She asked what about Latin America and Africa? Seem Senator Cotton really only has one focus- guys in pickup trucks 7000 miles away. in a country where 5 countries surrounding it have large armies and air forces, see it less of a threat than we do 7000 miles away? Why did Senator Cotton speak the day after drafting that letter at a Defense Contractor’s summit? So sir until you stand at Dover AfB on that Green line and pray that gravity doesn’t buckle your knees and watch your 19 year old son come off a plane in a flag draped silver box- I believe you might just consider the person you are talking about. Thank you FRED JOHN BOENIG GOLD STAR DAD

I generally disagree with Cotton on foreign policy, but I’ll hand it to him for sticking to his beliefs, such as they are. Whether continuing a particular military stance makes sense or not doesn’t hinge on the suffering of one family whose son has died.

Iska Waran- you missed the point of the question- it isn’t about me in the least- the question was do you know when the last US Military war zone casualty was? You see we have lost 1 person this year so far- and it was Dec 2014 one death in 176 days- You see this fellow would start that craziness up again- over what? and to what end? In 2010 we lost 60- in Iraq- he said we won the war- so staying there would lead to an average of 60 deaths which translates to an additional 9-12 wounded for each death (550-700 wounded) – in the summer of 2012 we averaged 1.5 dead a day and 12 wounded in Afghanistan- did you know that? So again this is about involving the life and body parts of abut 800 service members a year if we actually believe that we WON the war and could keep a peace that cost 800 soldiers (and future medical expenses) No this man is a cure the Symptom kind of guy- the fix the cause of the problem kind of guy realizes the answer doesn’t involve massive US Infidels walking the streets of an Islamic Country. But feel free to send your children I’ll put a plastic magnetic ribbon on my car for them. Because it’s clear no one here is paying attention to their lives and deaths.

Why don’t we even try to stop ISIS at our borders Mr Black Mahdi Hussein? Why are you secretly bring thousands of Muslims in per week Hussein but ignoring the Christians? Why are 250 White House Advisers Muslims? Why doesn’t Congress fire the generals Hussein appointed and appoint some that are on our side? Why is Husein arming ISIS against Assad; didn’t we learn anything from deposing Saddam, Gaddafi, Mubarak?

7. He received $700,000 for his senate campaign from the Emergency Committee for Israel. That’s correct — $700,000! Such an exorbitant amount of money ensures that Cotton is one of the most pro-Israel senators in Congress. During the 2014 Israeli invasion of Gaza, when over 500 Palestinian were killed, Cotton called the Israeli defense force “the most moral, humanitarian fighting force in the world.” In December he said Congressshould consider supplying Israel with B-52s and so-called “bunker-buster” bombs for a possible strike against Iran.

Fred Boenig, I agree that I did miss the point. Sorry. Thinking about my kids going brings the point home.
