The one that is at fault is the Mother — 100%, not the zoo and certainly not the gorilla.
It would have been nice to “coax” him to hand over the kid, but in the initial panic, and manic reaction, a bullet was the quickest fix.
What I’d do, were I the Zoo’s Director, is to sue the woman for the expense of replacing the gorilla. Her stupidity, her cost.
Glad they got the kid, sorry they had to kill the animal to do it.
Make her pay for it.

Zoos are obsolete. One can learn far more about any animal by watching Documentaries.
Zoos remaining open should institute a no rescue policy. That asshole last week tried to commit suicide by lion and they had to shoot the lions.

What the fuck kind of zoo facility is it that a four year old child could fall into the gorilla pit in a matter of seconds? Dumb parents, sure, but does the zoo require a 130 IQ to gain admission? No. They should know that half of their attendees are dumb shits or children of dumb shits. The exhibits should be designed accordingly.
