Muslim Woman Reportedly Admits To Fabricating NYC Subway Attack

Via The Daily Caller

An 18-year-old Muslim woman has recanted her claim that she was harassed by a group of Donald Trump supporters on a New York City subway car earlier this month, DNA Info is reporting.

Sources tell the website that Yasmin Seweid, a student at Baruch College, said that she made up the story because she was having problems at home and wanted attention. Seweid will also be charged with filing a false police report, according to DNA Info.

Seweid claimed that on Dec. 1 she was harassed by three drunk white men who called her a “terrorist” and told her to “get the hell out of the country.” One of the men attempted to remove Seweid’s hijab, she claimed. Worse, she said that other passengers did not come to her aid.

“No matter how ‘cultured’ or ‘Americanized’ I am, these people don’t see me as an American,” Seweid wrote on Facebook about the alleged incident.

Numerous news outlets — including Buzzfeed and local TV stations — ran the story as fact, citing the incident as an example of the alleged increase in anti-Muslim bias that has gripped the nation in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidential win.

But little evidence of the incident had surfaced over the past couple of weeks. Investigators could find no witnesses to corroborate Seweid’s claims, and there were no video recordings of the alleged harassment. Red flags were raised last week after Seweid disappeared without notice for two days. She was found at a friend’s house.

According to DNA Info, Seweid admitted to the hoax on Tuesday.

As for charges that will be filed against the student, DNA Info further reported:

A source explained that, given the amount of time detectives spent chasing the phony story, and how politically charged the allegation was, the police and prosecutors felt compelled to charge her, particularly since they said they had given her numerous opportunities to come clean earlier in the process. She repeatedly refused to tell the truth for weeks, they added.

Told of the charges pending against his daughter, Seweid’s father did not deny that she made up the tale.

“You try to raise your children as best you can,” Sayeed Seweid told DNA Info. “Maybe she was afraid that night. She was running late.

“She’s a bright, good girl. She’s young and maybe she was foolish here,” he continued. “Young kids, you know, you don’t understand their mentality.”

Seweid’s hoax is not the first to emerge in the wake of Trump’s win. Several alleged anti-Muslim, anti-gay and anti-black incidents have been found to have been fabricated.

Last month, an 18-year-old student at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette was charged with filing a false report after she told police that a group of men wearing Donald Trump hats harassed her and stole her hijab.

Read it earlier today. More fake news stories. It is too bad to MSM could spend a bit of time vetting before reporting.

Beneath every hate crime is a shameless tool trying to prop up a false narrative.

I used to follow this trend carefully about ten-fifteen years ago and in almost every instance they ended like this. They never face the charges though, it always gets dismissed because of some emotional sob story about how tough life is, blah, blah, blah.

It never gets old though.

What a waste of time and money charging this poor girl with a crime. Just send her back.

You are absolutely right. This is the last time we will hear about it. The file will get shuffled about in court for a year or so. A conditional sentence will be handed out and it will end up not being even on back page of local newspaper.

I will say that the NY Times covered it and exposed her as a fraud. However I can almost type the verbatim of what her lawyer is going to say when this finally gets to court.

An excuse along these lines.

A spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Ibrahim Hooper, said in an interview on Wednesday that Muslims in America were feeling “tremendous psychological stress and pressure” that can result in episodes like this one.

It is just an episode.
You can’t call that a crime!
Come on you Honor.

This fine Lady doesn’t need a second chance. Why. Well that is easy to explain she wasn’t given a fair shot the first time around. I should have been a lawyer.

Muslims are liars. Their perverse, satanic, gutter religion demands it.

Hardly a complete list, but there are sure a lot of them.

A couple of giveaways are: backwards swastikas, improperly knotted nooses, when words are allegedly scrawled on the victims face they tend to be backwards (from using a mirror), etc. If you are serious about your hatecriming, you usually put in the effort.

The backwards writing reminds me of Ashley Todd, who worked for John McCain’s campaign and claimed a tall black man carved “B” into her face – turns out she did it… backwards.

As for this young woman, she was childish and impulsive. She should have known that if she mentioned 3 men, that the police were going to question her for details, and that in New York City, with cameras literally everywhere, footage would have been readily available to the police.

This is foolish, because when there are actual cases of minorities being attacked by hateful people, neutral observers will be slower to believe them. Therefore, such hoaxes actually work against the pain of real victims.
