I’d like to wish everyone associated with TBP and their families a Happy New Year. TBP had 7.8 million visitors in 2016. It’s been a crazy year. Our brand of “fake news” seems to be gaining traction. I’ll do my best to try and keep this place interesting in 2017. See you next year.

Getting ready for a small soire to bring in the new year. 2017 will still see me as the contrarian and that’s ok by me.

Like most people I followed a link here from ZeroHedge or Martin Armstrong or someone else I read every day.
Now, I read TBP first and if one of those other morans have something worth reading HERE, I might follow the link to their site to see if there is anything you didn’t link here in the last day or so that I might want to read.
More often than not, anything WORTH reading ended up here, posted by you or by one of my other team TBP members.
For those “new” readers this year… this is not a cakewalk blog. You gonna earn your stripes to stick around here. There are some big dogs around and most of them just growl and bark a lot, baring teeth, but they are mostly harmless.
There are a COUPLE you will need to avoid when you are posting a lame opinion founded on fairy dust. And, if you aren’t aware of which ones you will need to avoid? Remember that fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
The rest of us? We will laugh at you and heckle you mercilessly.
Okay, EC… I said after JFish came to Mayberry and got a bit snarky with both of us kindhearted mentor types that I was NOT going to befriend any new people here and tell them that LLPOH bites. I wasn’t going to tell anyone that I know that husbands or wives or smart-aleck kids will use our logins to post comments and then deny it when asked. I wasn’t going to tell anyone NEVER to shake Stucky’s hand.
So, if you think this little “tip” for newbies on New Year’s Eve is breaking that solemn vow after JFish turned on both of us and revealed himself to be smarter than either of us with the articles he’s posted this year, then let me know and I’ll delete it.
Otherwise, this will go into archives as another Maggie attempt to be the welcome wagon. Which it is NOT.

Actually, Maggie, when I said we hadn’t had a chance to sniff his ass, it was good natured banter and jFish proved himself worthy when he replied that his ass was clean. Your good to go Maggie. Welcome them all you want, the bears upstream are just waiting for these fish.
Until I can figure out a way to hack my son’s Photobucket password, I am found out, having filled up several accounts at work places, library, phone, etc., and then having to work from ONE computer location allowed PB to identify me as the owner of several accounts and tell me I can’t have any more free space. My son, who almost NEVER takes a picture, won’t give me access to his computer.
However, the kind people at Photobucket merged my several accounts and allow me to use my existing images. And I got a lot of ’em.
Proud of me. Not ONE that.

I woke this morning realizing I’d forgotten to mention the spooky dudes lurking around here who will occasionally join the fray when some idiot who wasn’t paying close enough attention attributes a comment to them NOT made by them. I won’t even mention the name, Billy, for fear of rousing you from your lair.
And I hope you understand the subtle compliment in the mention.
Word up! Bringing like-minded peeps together is a good thing! (In case you’re wondering – I had some hip-hop influences in the 80’s….)
I think 2017 will be a good collection of 8,760 hours. How we choose to use them for our benefit is another thing. Stay sharp and focused!
Got some good book reviews for you guys coming up soon too.
And as a goal in ’17 – maybe some more “in-person” meetups are in order. Organize them regionally…
