Be Careful What You Wish For (especially if it is Hitler)

Guest Post by Scott Adams

As a trained persuader, I’m seeing a dangerous situation forming that I assume is invisible to most of you. The setup is that during the presidential campaign Trump’s critics accused him of being Hitler(ish) and they were sure other citizens would see it too, thus preventing this alleged monster from taking office.

They were wrong. The alleged monster took office.

Now you have literally millions of citizens in the United States who were either right about Trump being the next Hitler, and we will see that behavior emerge from him soon, or they are complete morons. That’s a trigger for cognitive dissonance. The science says these frightened folks will start interpreting all they see as Hitler behavior no matter how ridiculous it might seem to the objective observer. And sure enough, we are seeing that.

To be fair, Trump made it easy this week with his temporary immigration ban. If you assume Trump is Hitler, that fits with your hypothesis. But of course it also fits the hypothesis that he’s just doing his job. We’re all seeing what we expect to see.

But lately I get the feeling that Trump’s critics have evolved from expecting Trump to be Hitler to preferring it. Obviously they don’t prefer it in a conscious way. But the alternative to Trump becoming Hitler is that they have to live out the rest of their lives as confirmed morons. No one wants to be a confirmed moron. And certainly not after announcing their Trump opinions in public and demonstrating in the streets. It would be a total embarrassment for the anti-Trumpers to learn that Trump is just trying to do a good job for America. It’s a threat to their egos. A big one.

And this gets me to my point. When millions of Americans want the same thing, and they want it badly, the odds of it happening go way up. You can call it the power of positive thinking. It is also the principle behind affirmations. When humans focus on a desired future, events start to conspire to make it happen.

I’m not talking about any new-age magic. I’m talking about ordinary people doing ordinary things to turn Trump into an actual Hitler. For example, if protesters start getting violent, you could expect forceful reactions eventually. And that makes Trump look more like Hitler. I can think of dozens of ways the protesters could cause the thing they are trying to prevent. In other words, they can wish it into reality even though it is the very thing they are protesting.

In the 3rd dimension of persuasion, the protesters need to be proven right, and they will do whatever it takes to make that happen. So you might see the protesters inadvertently create the police state they fear.

If you are looking for the tells that this dangerous situation is developing, notice how excited/happy the Trump critics seem to be – while angry at the same time – that Trump’s immigration ban fits their belief system. If you see people who are simply afraid of Trump, they are probably harmless. But the people who are excited about any Hitler-analogy-behavior by Trump might be leading the country to a police state without knowing it.

So watch for that.

I fear Scott Adams may be right. In fact, I see it in my own family.

Most of my family consists of true-blue Democratic liberals and a few moderate Republicans. (My life is hell at election time). Most of them have gone from merely thinking Hillary was better than Trump to an full on rage about what Trump is doing. I hear them bitch and moan and I can see they are in an alternate reality like Scott Adams has talked about.

In fact, today my normally sane, moderate republican son-in-law is going nuts over Trump’s new immigration policy. Now when you implement such a far-reaching policy, it will never be perfect. In this case preventing green card holders and US dual citizens from entering the country seems wrong. Also, not including Saudi Arabia in the list of counties whose citizens we are keeping out is just flat out stupid!

With that being said, on balance the ban seems like a good idea. It is not forever for christ sake. It is only for a few months so we can get our act together and start to properly vet people from high-risk areas. Yet, the anti-Trumpers are going nuts.

I just don’t get it. The alternate reality of the anti-Trumpers may do us all in.

I still don’t understand why so many on the right still insist “this is only temporary, until we figure out how to properly vet them”. Why? What do we, as average US citizens, gain by letting them in, vetted or not. Do we NEED more people in he US? No, we damn sure don’t. Does ‘diversity’ actually benefit anyone? No, its doesn’t, it just sows the seeds of conflict. This is a fact of human nature, we aren’t going to change that with forced integration. Do they actually provide some kind of economic benefit? Well, judging by the state of the economies all over the third world, no, they don’t. They will just end up costing the broke ass US government moar money, which they have to take out of our hides. Are they going to assimilate and become first world Americans? No, time after time, we have found that placing third worlders into the first world does not cause them to adapt to their new surroundings and become first world citizens, they instead make the area around them resemble the third world, since that is the only level of society most of them are capable of functioning in.

So, I ask again, WHY should it be temporary? Why let them in at all? And before someone points out all the war and destruction that is the fault of the US govt, believe me, Im aware and want us to stop doing that too.

I feel bad for about 10% of the refugees, which our foreign policy helped them become refugees, but the rest can blow me. No one who is not a U.S. citizen has a right to be here. Visas can be revolked and so can green cards. It’s not the problem of U.S. citizens and believe me, our world would be better without being so “inclusive”. Let them clean up the mess in their own countries and they can do that since we’re stopping the “invasion/overthrow” or “Wolfowitz” doctrine.

Guess what? Millions of Americans did want the same thing, that is, secure borders and a determined vetting process.

Rush makes a valid point about the media wanting to portray the “Left” being a majority of the populace. They Aren’t. Make no mistake. If the violence of the “Left” continues, moreover if anything “happens” to Trump, there will be a blood letting in America unlike anything seen since the 1860s. The communists have been trying to overthrow our Republic for almost a hundred years. We’ve regained the upper hand with Donald Trump winning the Presidency. You say “leading the country to a police state without knowing it”. Sorry for the bad news Scott but the U.S. has had a police state in place for a decade or more. Hero’s like PC Roberts and especially John Whitehead have been powerfully warning about it for years. We Ron Paul types admonished both the ersatz political parties for years that expanding the power of the presidency when their boy was in power had a very bad, if predictable draw back-it goes around and comes around. Both when the Republican NeoRats we’re peddling their “exceptionalism” bullshit granting Baby Bush extra-constitutional power and the Democratic NeoRats doing the same for their boy Barry that one day that unchecked power would wind up in the wrong hands. Is that Trump? Time will tell. As Whitehead states:It’s only a phone call away.

Also let’s not discount Trump idolators from cheering on the Stasifacation of (what use to be) America. Just observing the wrath of any comment not blindly supportive of Trump policies on this site is enough to convince me that when push gets to shove the last priority here among them will be the Constitution.

I agree on the Iranians. Not that they’re trustworthy, but virtually all terrorism ever committed against Americans has been by Sunnis. We need to hedge our bets a bit. Trump took the list of 7 countries that the Obama administration singled out for “advanced visa security” and did a 90 day suspension of visas. These 7 countries comprise 13.7% of worldwide Muslim population. So 86.3% of Muslims worldwide are unaffected. And as the 90 day period draws to a close, Trump’s DHS is likely to announce some new screening procedure that – voila’ – solves the problem. If this maneuver makes the US seem less welcoming to Muslims, that’s a feature, not a bug.

That being said, I think Trump should do 2-3 non-Hitlerian things that blow libs’ minds – like commute the sentence of Leonard Peltier, for example. He’s in his 70’s and isn’t dangerous. It’s not that I care about Peltier, per se. He may be innocent (probably not), but most murderers do a lot less time than he already has. Pick a couple of symbolic things like that. Put an animal or two on the endangered species list. That sort of thing.

I’m stunned that not one person anywhere in the MSM has even begun to catch on to his constant catfishing expeditions. Yesterday then they went full blown mental over a few Iraqis getting stuck in a holding area at JFK my very first thought was “what’she got up his sleeve?”

Boom, first thing this morning I find this-

♦ President Obama puts six-month ban on Iraqi refugees in 2011 and media…. crickets.
♦ President Trump puts 120-day suspension on Syrian refugees 2017… media explodes.

♦ Obama selects 7 countries for enhanced visa security policy and media… crickets.

So he deliberately copied, line and verse the exact same language from two previous Obama EO’s in order to see if these morons would bite and what do they do? Hit it like a pinata.

Here’s a prediction, Scott. This guy is light years ahead of his opponents in both strategy and tactics. He doesn’t have to introduce any new laws at all, simply enforce the ones that have been ignored for fifty years and maybe get creative with things like the weekly Illegal Alien Crime Reports. The numbers are going to be massive judging by the names I hear on the radio in NH every week for violent/drug crimes- at least 75% are Hispanic in a state that has 1/10th of 1% of the National average population of Hispanics. When Americans get a big dose of just how many of these people looking for a better life are doing it via crime he may have to calm them down.

Right now he is spanking them relentlessly, day in and day out. Tantrums like the Shia La Beouf Project aren’t doing them any favors either. Let’s just see how long it takes before people start treating the progressive left like the homeless. I predict it won’t be much longer at all.

So sad that your information is mostly incorrect and off the mark. First there was NO BAN on Iraqi refugees by Obama in 2011, that is FAKE NEWS. There was a re-examination of all Iraqi refugees due to an actual crisis of 2 Al Qaeda terrorists being found let into the country in 2009. This did cause a backlog of 6 months though so I’ll give you that, but it was not an order to stop processing any. Second there was the 7 country ban was not on visa’s but on Electronic System for Travel Authorizations for the Visa WAIVER Program. Which instead said if you had been in one of those 7 countries you needed to actually apply for a Visa to travel to the US, even for stays under 90 days. This was all part of an actual BILL – Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act – not an EO.

If you’re going to talk shit, at least get it right.

Apparently it is true that all you belive in is “Alternative Facts”. Have you even bothered to read https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/158/text or https://www.dhs.gov/news/2016/02/18/dhs-announces-further-travel-restrictions-visa-waiver-program . From your statements I can guess you have not. But stating that there was an EO when there was not, points to that you are following only news sources that you agree with. If you can’t be bothered to research the actual original article then you should probably just hang up your political hat up.

On top of the false accusations that this EO looks anything like previous immigration rulings there is the unintended consequences to US Citizens abroad. We live in a global society, and until we all treat each other with respect we are doomed to fail. I do not agree with everything our country does, but I do feel that communication within the government is how the (3) branches were designed. EO’s should only be used to clarify and give direction when needed. Taking a unilateral stand because you have a belief that is not followed up by facts makes a bad situation worse.

Hardly a surprise that for the last eight years the left has been flailing about trying to find a foe. Their Bum King Nobel Prize Winner was their great Hope. Turned out with even that, there was fuck all for change. Didn’t take long for anyone with a firing neuron to realize that man was a disaster looking for a place to happen.

So what to do?

Reminds me of character from Get Smart. Mr. LeBeef is going to make history alright. I’m sure he planned his exposition to be some sort of protest. Shia wants not to divide but a week in and a trip to jail for assault he has accomplished exactly the opposite. But I suppose maybe that is the point. For him the message is indeed the medium. All the chanting and fighting however, has him looking like a modern day Jim Jones. Sooner or later he is going to realize the he is nothing more than Trump’s bitch. Then the only choice left for him is to decide on flavour and how sweet to make the Kool-Aid.

LeBeef is an actor, I don’t read the concocted stories about his meltdown. Simply don’t care, that is for the lower IQ reader to digest. SA infers that the anti-Trumpers want to see his actions as those of a Hitler thus wishing him to be so. That is also saying that any Hitlarian action he may commit going forward will be because his opponents wished it (but it just ain’t the case).

So, if one day Trump dissolved congress as Hitler did parliament, it would be SA saying it is just a perception.

Let me see if I can help.

If someone says that you are a racist regardless of how you treat people, regardless of how you think of yourself, regardless of any facts or reality associated with the claim and they do everything in their power to frighten your family, threaten your life, damage your reputation, ruin you economically and isolate you socially how long do you think you will continue to try and convince them of the truth? You can’t, they don’t care and reality doesn’t even factor in so now the only option left is to slink away and hope they forget about you or wear their disdain and enmity as a badge of honor and embrace their hatred as confirmation of your righteousness.

See how that works?

To be called “Hitler” by mentally unhinged, violent and unrepentant morons and thugs is no longer an insult it is a confirmation of your success.

My take on this has been that Trump understands the difference between reality and ideology. He doesn’t care about ideology because that’s not how buildings are erected. He now understands that this Nation is similarly constructed, not by ideas but by actions, not by political slogans but by purposeful accomplishments and has set a course to those ends. He knows that he is NEVER going to reach the snowflake crowd who live in a world completely detached from reality so he focuses like a laser on the population that is rooted in work, family, community, and the future. If he was a plant like some suggest or a tool of bankers or the NWO they damn sure wouldn’t be fighting him tooth and nail and he would have already caved half a dozen times or blamed his inaction on the process of politics, but he soldiers on.

He knows that if he fails in this he will go down as not only the most hated man of the establishment and it’s useful idiots but by the very people who believed in him and supported him and his name will be forever reviled by everyone.

Does that sound like the Donald Trump we have all watched for forty years?

No, he’s all in and I believe he wants to be remembered as the greatest President of the modern era and if that means that half the country is going to call him Hitler, then they’d better get used to the blitzkrieg.

Trump as Hitler? What is that? Round up supposed trouble makers,

We have had a police state and “fake” crime that allows police to enter one’s
home at 00 hour and smash things up. We have had actual highway robbery
with dogs scenting drugs, searches, and you lose your $ and maybe your life.

These pale in comparison to the toppling of countries, stealing gold and valuables,
taking countries over with compromising leaders, and using forced labor, then
murdering people for their strong hearts. Actually, the FUSA has been operating full
on Hitler-style monstership via MIC contractors. What a racket!

So we will become MORE of a police state how?

I just don’t get all the gnashing of teeth on this one. So, we prevent some Muslim refugees from coming in. NOTHING Trump is doing is unconstitutional. The President has FULL POWER to deny entrance in to this country by anyone he feels does not belong. There were a whopping 107 people detained at airports due to his ban being instituted. Really? 107 people detained, not shot, beat, shipped to Guantanamo, just detained. Yet, the lefts response is that we are going to become the Third Reich?
I am seeing more and more that liberalism is a mental disorder that afflicts a large segment of our society. It irritates me no end that Trump will wind up helping his opponents. If the economy somehow manages to take off (perhaps due to less regulations, the “two for one trade” he just announced? Will it overcome a depreciating currency?) then a whole lot of snowflakes will find employment (if they want to). If the Muslim ban lasts for months / years / permanency, there will be that many FEWER terrorists sneaking in (maybe even a few deported) and fewer snowflakes (statistical likelihood) will die in terrorist attacks like that Miami nightclub, the Ft. Hood attack, San Bernadino & etc. If less money is wasted on fraudulent “climate change” studies by a brainsick EPA, there will be more money to fund real science, real toxic dump cleanups and even a few snowflakes’ causes.
If they had a working brain cell they would welcome all these Trump policies …. but then, that answers itself, doesn’t it?
