If only we could be so lucky. Trump seems to be focusing entirely on the illegal/refugee aspect, which accounts for a paltry percentage of the total number of people who come here every year. Even if we shut down the Mexican border, get rid of all the visa overstays, and completely end the refugee nonsense, “legal” immigration will still eat us alive in the coming years. The ONLY way we get to keep some semblance of America is shutting it down.
Something like a million people come here, legally, each and every year. Shutting that down, hell, even cutting it in half, is going to face resistance the likes of which this country has never seen. Snowflake riots galore, the entire media piling on, most of the republicans would join those on the left as well. Every single large tech company would pour money into the opposition because they are terrified of losing the H1B pipeline of cheap chinese and indian tech workers. Even if 50% or more of the country support it, you will see wall to wall coverage bashing trump and caling him all sorts of names. It would take a lot more courage and dedication than I think we are likely to see.

Why the fuck would the US allow in ANY unskilled immigrants?
There are literally millions of young skilled Europeans that would kill to get to the US. Millions of European doctors, scientists, engineers, etc., are unemployed or only able to find temporary work making coffee.

If however the drones grew 10 pears and 10 peaches, the country would now have 40 pieces of fruit, instead of twenty.
Govt drones and parasites do not add ANYTHING to the economy. Nothing. The fewer of them, the more product the country can produce, and the greater the national wealth.

We don’t need more STEM people in America. Plenty of unemployed Americans with STEM degrees. A bachelors in chemistry or biology not really worth that much; you could do just as well with a solid associates.
I can’t say we any high IQ immigrants that can’t assimilate or bring their past countries pathologies over here.
Legal immigration needs to be drastically cut as well.

Good luck getting any real numbers on unemployment from the previous government. Maybe Trump will fire the liars, and we’ll get real numbers; but if that happens, count on the MSM to notice the “surge in unemployment in the new Trump administration”!
