They’re trying to convince you that riots, terrorist attacks and Muslim rapeyness are just (yawn) part of the new normal and therefore only a hysterical fool concerns himself with such things. OTOH, a good citizen is expected to be constantly on the lookout for signs of real threats like racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, transphobia , anti-Semitism and KKK/Nazis.
