Education currently selects for females.

Compliance, acceptance, and quiet obedience are encouraged. If you fail to conform in any way, they segregate you, limit your opportunities, and recommend you for expulsion, or even worse, medication.

College is must the same, with administrations and educators bending over backwards to make sure they offer as much help as possible to minorities or females while your bog standard white american male (a gigantic portion of the nation) gets shoved to the side.

The year I graduated with my Masters the class was over 75% female. I don’t have the statistics on the number of immigrant males, but well over half were either Indian or Chinese.

The males were generally so effeminate that their skirts were shorter than the women’s and the handful of guys walking around who came across as normal swallowed the modern paradigm hook line and sinker.

It was like the twilight zone.

Undergrad was scarcely better. Sure, the biology program was half male, but they pushed guys towards sports medicine or conservation while bending over backwards to get the females top tier research positions and posh-med school positions.

On average, women are overpaid relative to men. They should be earning about two-thirds the salary of men…on average. The reason I say that is because of the multitude of “affirmative action” programs that discriminate for women against men…particularly White men. There are also special scholarships for woman in science and engineering, special government programs that favor women over men, special quotas in some areas, women’s entrepreneurial training…to mention just a few. These programs are particularly egregious in federal, state and local government, and in universities and schools where promotion is commonly determined by the years “served” and not by merit unlike medicine and law where you are paid by the hours billed and the quality of the work…in most cases. It follows, therefore, that women in teaching, government, police and fire departments, military, etc, are most likely overpaid. I have personally seen women promoted to the level of director and higher mostly on the basis of gender; and if you happen to also be a “visible minority”, then the sky is the limit. Having chaired selection committees to hire scientists, the policy was always to hire a woman over a man when the qualifications were “approximately” equal. At a university where a close friend is a professor, two females in tenure-tract positions were converted to lectureships when they failed in their applications for tenure. I could go on about women’s use of sex to secure graduate degrees and promotions, and provide other examples but what’s the point. The evidence is out there except for the brainwashed and brain dead. And there is no shortage of those.

“If civilization had been left in female hands we would still be living in grass huts.”

I am working as a consultant in a bunch where at least one woman works as an engineer. She is bright, dedicated and capable, just like the guys. In practice, we put together a project team of people, finding as many as possible who have expertise / prior experience in the area in question (be it oil refining, chemical manufacturing, nuclear, odd specialties, you name it) and add enough extras (ordinary but capable engineers who do math and science in many areas, not necessarily the area in question) to get the work done by the deadline, under budget if possible and over-delivering when available. We get LOTS of repeat business.
But did you notice I mentioned NOTHING about diversity, equality, gender, race, orientation? That’s because NONE OF THOSE THINGS MATTER when you are trying to develop a new process, debug an existing one, plan an expansion or meet the client’s needs. If it doesn’t matter to PRACTICING ENGINEERS in REAL INDUSTRY doing REAL PROJECTS to meet REAL NEEDS, then it just doesn’t matter.
There’s a reason all these “diversity diversions” flourish in academia, government and oversized companies that have lost their focus. Only places where performance isn’t critical can support such stupidity. I worry for the next manned mission (if another ever lifts) that NASA launches: if the equipment was designed, bid and built by “affirmative action hires”, then those astronauts are unlikely to come back, and we’ll all be told how to mourn them while ignoring WHY we’ll be mourning them.
