All these larger cities are / are becoming shit holes. I have no interest in visiting any of them.
Basically, they have a small, attractive downtown, but get 2-3 blocks out of the ‘core’ and it’s a combat zone.

My guess is that if the statues they removed from NO could come back to life they’d wish to be taken out of that dank, dangerous shit-hole city anyway. Erect them back up in white neighborhoods where they belong. I’d take the bunch of them in my town.

Historical statues “down the memory hole” per Orwells’ 1984. The war between the states was not primarily about slavery, it was about states rights vs federal power grab. That fact was shoved down the memory hole long ago and replaced with the slavery narrative as the main theme, to support identity politics and a dumbed down voting block..

how will the lives of the folks be improved by the removal of said statues? what exactly will make life better now that the statues are gone?

New Orleans is a disaster.
It is the Detroit of the South but Atlanta is not that far away.
Beautiful place and great food within the “historic” district.
Now that the “evil” Confederate statues are no longer there, no sane person would want to visit New Orleans.
New Orleans will have to say goodbye to a lot of tourism dollars!

And it costs plenty of $ as well/pay for torture.
Lots of people from the Midwest visit New Orleans on their way to the Gulf Beaches each summer.
Most of the visitors will drive to the city.
Driving the family is more of a travel cost savings vs avoiding Touch Squeeze and Admire ((TSA)) at the airport.

This is the modern equivalent of Rome s to thowing Carthage with salt. If my side wins in this 4th turning, I suggest every school, street etc. named after Martin Luther King have its name changed. Every monument to that communist son of a bitch should be smashed to dust. Winners write history and make the rules. We had better wise up and act accordingly.
