FUNCTIONAL ILLITERATES TRYING TO ERASE HISTORY

Written in August 2017 when the leftists first started pulling down statues. It applies perfectly again today. My conclusions stand.

“True patriotism sometimes requires of men to act exactly contrary, at one period, to that which it does at another, and the motive which impels them the desire to do right is precisely the same.” Robert E. Lee

I consider myself a student of history. I’ve always been fascinated by the personalities who drove events throughout history. I probably would have been a history major in college if I didn’t feel the need to make enough money to support myself and my family. I chose a business major and decided studying history would be my hobby. Over the years I’ve taken a particular interest in the Civil War. You could even call me a Civil War buff.

11 wounded in shooting rampage at New Orleans French Quarter; no arrests made

Via USA Today

New Orleans police investigate the scene of a shooting on Dec. 1, 2019, on the edge of the city's famed French Quarter.

Eleven people were wounded in a shooting rampage early Sunday on the edge of the famed French Quarter of New Orleans in an area still thick with tourists at 3 a.m.

Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said two of the injured were hospitalized in critical condition. He said officers were in the area when the shooting spree began, but that no officers were among the wounded.

Ferguson said one person was detained near the scene but said he did not yet know what role, if any, the person had in the shooting. No arrests had been made.

5 Of The Most Violent Cities In The World Are Right Here In America

Authored by Daisy Luther via The Organic Prepper blog,

When you think of the most dangerous, violent cities in the world, do you picture slums in Third World countries with vicious drug cartels or arrogant warlords? Maybe the kind of violence where enemies are decapitated and whole families are murdered seem like things that happen far away in some terrifying, exotic locale.

Some of this is true – but FIVE of the world’s most violent cities are right here on the American mainland and another is in an American territory. The list was created by researchers of anti-violence think-tank Seguridad, Justicia Y Paz (Security, Justice, and Peace), who made their rankings based on statistics of homicides per 100,000 residents.

The vast majority of the cities on the list were in Central and South America. Interestingly, the violence in Venezuela appears to have dropped in violence this year, but not because it’s suddenly become a mecca of safety. The official situation there has devolved so much that they simply can’t track all the homicides.

PURGING HISTORY – JUST LIKE THE TALIBAN & ISIS

Liberal control freaks censor and destroy whatever they don’t like, including history. Obama and his minions will cheer as these monuments are blown up, just as the Taliban and ISIS do the same. Maybe the mayor should concentrate on reducing the murder rate in New Orleans, as it is one of the most dangerous cities in America.

New Orleans council votes on purging city of Confederate monuments

After months of heated public debate, the New Orleans City Council is holding a special meeting Thursday to vote on whether to remove four monuments tied to its Confederate past.

A towering Robert E. Lee statue that has stood for more than a century at Lee Circle is at risk, along with memorials to P.G.T. Beauregard, a high-ranking Confederate officer, and Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy. Perhaps the most controversial of the group, the Liberty Place monument, which commemorates a failed coup led by ex-Confederates, is also in the crosshairs.

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu first proposed the plan back in June, and, according to published reports, he has the votes needed to push it through.

New Orleans BANANAS FOSTER BREAD PUDDING

This is a recipe from a New Orleans restaurant that recently went out of business after 40+ years of service.  It was their most popular dessert.

Ingredients for the BREAD PUDDING

4 ————— large eggs
2 cups ——– whole milk
¼ cup ——– brown sugar
2 tspn ——– vanilla extract
1 Tblspn —– dark rum
1 Tblspn —– kosher salt
6 cups ——- cubed brioche
1 Tblspn —– white sugar
5 ————– very ripe bananas (with brown spots) cut into coins

Directions for the BREAD PUDDING

1)- Preheat oven to 350.

2)- In a large bowl, whisk together the first six ingredients; eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, rum and salt.

3)- Add the bread to the bowl. Lightly stir so that it absorbs the liquid. Set aside to soak.

4)- Butter a 2-quart baking dish, and place it on a baking sheet. Line the bottom of the baking dish with a single layer of banana coins.

5)- Spoon half of the soaked bread over them.

6)- Add the rest of the banana coins. The spoon the remaining soaked bread over the top.

7)- Bake for 40 minutes. Then sprinkle with the tablespoon of white sugar. Continue baking until the pudding is puffed and golden on top (about an additional 10-20 minutes) .

Note: I’ve made many types of bread puddings and I ALWAYS have raisins in them. So, I will be adding ¼ to ½ cup mixed-raisins to the recipe.

Ingredients for the SAUCE

5 Tblspn —— butter, unsalted
½ cup ——— brown sugar
¼ cup ——— heavy cream
½ cup ——— dark rum
1 tspn ———- kosher salt

Directions for the SAUCE

1)- Melt the butter in a small sauce set over medium heat.

2)- Add the remaining four ingredients; brown sugar, cream, rum and salt. Whisk until combined. Simmer, constantly whisking until the sauce has thickened (about 5 to 8 minutes). Remove from heat and keep warm.

NOTE: I love cinnamon (the miracle spice), so I will add 1 teaspoon cinnamon to the sauce.

SERVING

Serve the pudding warm, with some of the sauce drizzled over the top, alongside high quality vanilla ice cream.

This is NOT the picture that was in the magazine article, but should give you an idea. The recipe is quite different (I’m sure I’ll try that one also), and can be found here;
