He actually did what he was supposed to do. Even though it was politically unpopular. I always felt he deserved a medal and a statue in his honor. People here in AZ are odd.Folks whose family came from Mexico still refer to themselves as Mexicans. I don’t bring my family’s European roots into any conversations very often.Like once in a blue moon. Most of these “Mexicans” Have never been there.Have no home there. I sure don’t get that I am an American thing from many.
I always figured either enforce laws about the border or eliminate it.Having some kind of half ass thinking on a border doesn’t work.

I was thinking that all existing immigration laws should be strictly enforced until the old ones are repealed and replaced. Of course that’s not how it works in the land of the free.

U.S. Constitution, Article 2, Section 2. “(the president) shall have the power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”

Pretty clear and unambiguous if you are a strict Constitutionalist. Be forewarned if you get into a disagreement about Sheriff Joe’s pardon. Your protagonist won’t understand plain English.

Arizona is on the hook for millions of dollars in costs due to Sheriff Joe. It turns out his camp cost more to run than a regular jail, there is also the matter of lawsuits for poor policing activities.
