This isn’t new. I went to a prestigious tech school in Cambridge in the late 1970s which had a dorm called “Chocolate City” (the residents’ approved name for it). It’s still there, still called “Chocolate City”, afaik. Blacks had a completely separate orientation week program, and there were also all-black fraternities, “black students union”, etc.
