There are a limited number of ways to peacefully govern a multi-racial or multi-ethnic society. There’s the hard separation that existed in the North before the Civil Rights Movement. The South had a soft segregation. The old way of stating the difference was that whites in the North were willing to treat blacks as equals as long as they did not have to live near them. In the South, whites were willing to live near blacks, as long as they did not have to treat them as equals. Both are now forbidden to mention in public now.
America has settled on Proportionalism for the last half century, as a way to navigate through the impossible task of keeping the peace between blacks and whites. Now that tens of millions of foreigners have been added to the mix, what was a pretty good situation in the 1980’s has become increasingly untenable. Thirty years ago, most people, black or white, were optimistic about race relations. That’s clearly not the case today and people are starting to wonder if it is even possible to make it work.
It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. That’s what makes this New York Times op-ed so interesting. The conventional way to read it is as more of the same blame and shame the Left has done for decades. The writer is supposed to be the sympathetic character and the whites are the bad guys in the never ending drama. The writer spends a lot of time listing the sins of white people and how that makes him feel. The thing is though, the way it is written leaves the impression that race relations are hopeless. This bit at the end strikes a dark note.
For African-Americans, race has become a proxy not just for politics but also for decency. White faces are swept together, ominous anxiety behind every chance encounter at the airport or smiling white cashier. If they are not clearly allies, they will seem unsafe to me.
Barack Obama’s farewell address encouraged us to reach across partisan lines. But there is a difference between disagreeing over taxes and negotiating one’s place in America, the bodies of your children, your humanity. Our racial wound has undone love and families, and ignoring the depths of the gash will not cause it to heal.
We can still all pretend we are friends. If meaningful civic friendship is impossible, we can make do with mere civility — sharing drinks and watching the game. Indeed, even in Donald Trump’s America, I have not given up on being friends with all white people. My bi-ethnic wife, my most trusted friend, understands she is seen as a white woman, even though her brother and father are not. Among my dearest friends, the wedding party and children’s godparents variety, many are white. But these are the friends who have marched in protest, rushed to airports to protest the president’s travel ban, people who have shared the risks required by strength and decency.
What has become common, when blacks are trotted out by Progressive to lecture us about race, is that they make the case that they will never be satisfied with the efforts of whites. A close reading of this essay reveals that the writer is not unhappy with the social structures of race. He does not like white people. There’s no way he can be happy in America, living among whites, as long as whites continue to act white. This is the state of things. Blacks can never be happy and whites can do anything to change that fact.
That’s not a problem that can be resolved to anyone’s satisfaction. When America was 80% white, it worked OK for Progressives, as it let them guilt the rest of the country into going along with the liberal agenda. As America approaches majority-minority status, this is entirely untenable. Ekow N. Yankah, the writer of that piece, is living the dream. He has an elite position in an elite profession. He gets treated like royalty and lives an upper class lifestyle. He’s also an African immigrant. If he can’t be happy, no one can.
The thing is, the people commissioning these sorts of pieces have to see the implications of what elite blacks are saying. American has done everything humanly possible to make it work for blacks in America. They have to see that white America is completely out of patience with this stuff. If you’re a plumber worried that you could be replaced by an indentured servant from over the horizon or you are an office worker worried about the robots, Ekow N. Yankah’s complaints just sound like ungratefulness.
The inevitable end game with race relations as America careens into majority-minority status is separation. The question is what kind of separation and whether or not it will be peaceful. Ekow N. Yankah is an accomplished guy with lpads of talent. Africa could use a man like him. Maybe the people in charge are pushing these sorts of essays, because they know what’s coming. It helps prepare the ground for the inevitable. Or, maybe they locked in the past, and they just don’t see what’s coming down the tracks
Let’s hope it is the former.
For almost 150 years the United States has been conducting an interesting experiment. The subjects of the experiment: black people and working-class whites.
The hypothesis to be tested: Can a people taken from the jungles of Africa and forced into slavery be fully integrated as citizens in a majority white population?
The whites were descendants of Europeans who had created a majestic civilization. The former slaves had been tribal peoples with no written language and virtually no intellectual achievements. Acting on a policy that was not fair to either group, the government released newly freed black people into a white society that saw them as inferiors. America has struggled with racial discord ever since.
Decade after decade the problems persisted but the experimenters never gave up. They insisted that if they could find the right formula the experiment would work, and concocted program after program to get the result they wanted. They created the Freedman’s Bureau, passed civil rights laws, tried to build the Great Society, declared War on Poverty, ordered race preferences, built housing projects, and tried midnight basketball.
Their new laws intruded into people’s lives in ways that would have been otherwise unthinkable. They called in National Guard troops to enforce school integration. They outlawed freedom of association. Over the protests of parents, they put white children on buses and sent them to black schools and vice versa. They tried with money, special programs, relaxed standards, and endless handwringing to close the “achievement gap.” To keep white backlash in check they began punishing public and even private statements on race. They hung up Orwellian public banners that commanded whites to “Celebrate Diversity!” and “Say No to Racism.” Nothing was off limits if it might salvage the experiment.
Some thought that what W.E.B. Du Bois called the Talented Tenth would lead the way for black people. A group of elite, educated blacks would knock down doors of opportunity and show the world what blacks were capable of. There is a Talented Tenth. They are the black Americans who have become entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors and scientists. But ten percent is not enough. For the experiment to work, the ten percent has to be followed by a critical mass of people who can hold middle-class jobs and promote social stability. That is what is missing.
Through the years, too many black people continue to show an inability to function and prosper in a culture unsuited to them. Detroit is bankrupt, the south side of Chicago is a war zone, and the vast majority of black cities all over America are beset by degeneracy and violence. And blacks never take responsibility for their failures. Instead, they lash out in anger and resentment.
Across the generations and across the country, as we have seen in Detroit, Watts, Newark, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and now Ferguson, rioting and looting are just one racial incident away. The white elite would tell us that this doesn’t mean the experiment has failed. We just have to try harder. We need more money, more time, more understanding, more programs, and more opportunities.
But nothing changes no matter how much money is spent, no matter how many laws are passed, no matter how many black geniuses are portrayed on TV, and no matter who is president. Some argue it’s a problem of “culture,” as if culture creates people’s behavior instead of the other way around. Others blame “white privilege.”
But since 1965, when the elites opened America’s doors to the Third World, immigrants from Asia and India–people who are not white, not rich, and not “connected”–have quietly succeeded. While the children of these people are winning spelling bees and getting top scores on the SAT, black “youths” are committing half the country’s violent crime–crime, which includes viciously punching random white people on the street for the thrill of it that has nothing to do with poverty.
The experiment has failed. Not because of culture, or white privilege, or racism. The fundamental problem is that white people and black people are different. They differ intellectually and temperamentally. These differences result in permanent social incompatibility.
Our rulers don’t seem to understand just how tired their white subjects are with this experiment. They don’t understand that white people aren’t out to get black people; they are just exhausted with them. They are exhausted by the social pathologies, the violence, the endless complaints, and the blind racial solidarity, the bottomless pit of grievances, the excuses, and the reflexive animosity.
The elites explain everything with “racism,” and refuse to believe that white frustration could soon reach the boiling point.,.,

You have written the best summation of the picture I have read in a long time, maybe ever.
In the life of a nation, as in the life of a person, there is a time when reality must be faced — however uncomfortable. For the individual, it can be acknowledging that you are never going to make the Olympic team, be a movie star, or count your first million dollars.
You can try to mix oil and water, and succeed temporarily, but soon they unmix no matter how fervently you plan or expect them to blend. You can take people out of Africa, settle them in North America, and insist they can live side by side as equals with other racial groups, but eventually most blacks revert to type. Repeating endlessly in a kind of auto-hypnosis that it only takes one more program, one more special privilege, one more policy of discrimination against non-blacks won’t change the outcome.
It isn’t the end of everything. There are satisfactory alternatives once you choose truth over fantasy ideals. Freedom of association — allowing the oil and water to find their own level — isn’t repression or bringing back slavery. It could actually end in a reasonable degree of mutual respect among races; not easily or without effort, not without some inevitable tension, but effort and tension along with their amelioration are a feature of a functional society. No matter how difficult the adjustment to free choice in association, it will not be as difficult as an open clash with no end but more anger.

Segregation probably was the natural, peaceful solution to two very different populations separated by about 15 IQ points –ie., one with a median IQ of 85 and a Std Dev of 13 vs one with a median IQ of 100 with a Std Dev of 15. To disturb that separation was a mistake. That doesn’t mean that basic civil rights legislation was wrong. But forced busing, reverse discrimination, etc was mistaken judicial activism. The “playing field” should be equal for all US citizens, but outcomes can’t be equalized. Genius Teddy Roosevelt said it would take 1000 years for blacks to catch up to whites. That was 100 years ago, so we have 900 years to go!
It doesn’t sound like much but 15 IQ points causes HUGE clashes of civilization. Much of the world has median IQs of about 85 including the Middle East and Africa— both areas are now in a permanent state of collapse or will be. It is obvious to most who wish to use their grey matter, that to support Trump’s Travel ban is to leave a Future country for their children, grandchildren, etc., that is not a shithole as evidenced by the countries from the low-IQ populations of MENA. I raise beef cattle, my friend has a nice herd of dairy cows. I trade steaks and ground beef for raw milk and cream. I appreciate his herd, he thinks well of mine. Both of us spend a lot of time with our livestock and have good relationships with the animals in them- I could tell you the month and the year of each one’s birth, their relationship to each other, etc. and I know he could too, so we have a solid handle on both the personalities and temperaments of each as well as the herds collectively.
I would not even dream of trying to milk one of my cows though I am sure it could be done and I know that while he could probably eat one of the Jerseys if he had no other options, it would be a distant second choice to one of the T-bones that come off my Herefords.
Same species, different animals. Both serve a purpose, both excel in their respective areas of accomplishment. Anyone who knows anything at all about the animal kingdom- of which we are a part- understands that differences within species make huge differences in behaviors and outcomes. It’s natural, it’s how all lifeforms survive and improve and it will never be anything but a fundamental reality.
People who live in ivory towers, the urban dwellers have been so long divorced from Nature and it’s rhythms, the endless complexities that rest upon foundations of simplicity can not and will not ever come to understand this. They live in a fantasy world composed entirely of human constructs, artificial environments, and false gods. Only one week ago an entire nation agreed to engage in a mass delusion, voluntarily. To pretend that the day was somehow off by an hour and in need of artificial correction. Not one person in a thousand has even the faintest inkling as to why we even do this, let alone how easy it is to choose blatant madness over observable reality. We stick with a single clock all year round and for six months out of the year we are out of sync with most everyone else, but perfectly in tune with Nature. We try and avoid making any appointments during this time to allow for the human herd to come to it’s senses at some later date and just smile to ourselves in the interim.
Humans have allowed themselves to lose touch with reality because they fear one thing more than death itself- to be set apart from the rest of the herd. They don’t even see that what they are “choosing” to do isn’t even a free choice, but a manipulation by those who have no moral qualm with being the herdsman over the human cattle they harvest.
If two human beings can divorce from one another, then it stands to reason that two human groups can choose the same path. We have different destinies and they will be fulfilled no matter what kind of artifice or fakery is used to try and outsmart Mother nature.

I was there during the so-called “civil-rights” demonstrations and observed much criminal behavior that never got reported. You see, then as is now, the news media, communists and their fellow travelers had an agenda of their own and as such, could not “let a crisis go to waste”. The rapes, robberies, and the general trashing of the areas they occupied were never reported. Only the reactions of the local citizenry and law enforcement to the lawless behavior of the “demonstrators” was reported…
These demonstrations were not peaceful by any means, the demonstrators being “egged on” by their new york-based “carpetbagger” handlers. The locals, both black and white, wanted NOTHING to do with these “outsiders” coming into their peaceful communities, only to cause trouble.

I have come to the conclusion that passing the so-called “civil-rights” acts were mistakes. The term “racism” was invented by communists, and is used to destroy cultures and defuse (and render impotent) those with differing points-of-view on “racial” issues.
True “racism” is desirable as it merely cements cultural and social bonds that are necessary for a society to function and flourish.
True “racism” merely denotes commonality of purpose and advancement within each respective racial group.
Blacks have the NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus, Hispanics have La Raza and Mecha, Jews have the $PLC, ACLU and ADL. These are all “racist” organizations that serve to promote the interests (and political power) of their respective races.
It is only whites who are castigated and threatened for attempting to show any signs of racial solidarity.
Let’s look at what us “evil, privileged” whites have done for Western society and the world:
1. “Civil-rights (for some)” laws (that effectively destroy “freedom of association” for whites, but not for other races) and do not apply to whites–only “people of color” are covered by these so-called “civil-rights (for some)” protections, (Ask “Attorney General” Loretta Lynch about that).
2. “Affirmative action” policies (that push better qualified whites out of positions and jobs that they would ordinarily qualify for) in favor of lesser-qualified minorities. He had a “cocky attitude” and bragged about “getting it on” with white women–not a good idea in the South. . . According to published accounts, Mr. Till did not just “whistle” at a white woman, but grabbed, manhandled and fondled a married white woman. In Southern culture, this was, and still is, the ultimate form of disrespect. Despite Mr. Till’s relatives’ attempts to spirit him “out of town” to avoid retribution by the woman’s relatives and townspeople, his cocky attitude “got in the way”, similar to the way that “young master Trayvon’s” attitude got him killed. Despite being given numerous “chances” to apologize for his behavior, he was defiant to the end. IF he had apologized for his behavior, he would still be alive today.
