Actually, I think it’s a good idea if you want to beg for money. Not my cup of tea though.
A hundred times I’ve picked up the phone and some guy said “Sir, ve understand jew hab bak an ne pan, yes?”. Today some guy immediately said “ve are sending ur bak brace today” and I said keep it! click. I wonder if they are just going to start sending crap and Medicare/Medicaid is just going to pay? Later some guy said that a letter would arrive with my donation envelope, would I be sending $50 or $30? I said are you a human? Silence, so I hung up. If I ever donated to anything, wouldn’t the NYC harassment calls go up astronomically?

It’s also weird as hell.
Just off the freeway exit to downtown Minneapolis, there has been a pan-handler with a sign that reads “Tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday” – he’s had that sign for a couple of weeks now.
I know a sheriff that deals with pan-handlers: He stops and just takes their sign 🙂
