I saw a Tweet the other day linking to a 1984 New York Times Magazine article on Trump. It was largely positive but the interesting thing was Trump mused he saw atomic weapons as being the worlds biggest problem and if he ever ran for public office it would be to reduce or eliminate the threat they posed to mankind.
This was during the height of the Cold War and before rogue states got into the game. As we have seen the big nuclear powers can keep their arsenals under control but now that Pakistan, North Korea and potentially Iran have nuclear programs the situation has changed.
To be blunt, the country most likely to be hit with an atomic weapon is not Russia, China, the US or UK. It is Israel and the bomb used may not have a return address on it. There are thousands of fanatics in the Muslim world who would gladly immolate themselves in a nuclear fireball if they could get their hands on a nuclear weapon. One would think America’s Jews would see that the risk of a nuclear device leaking out of Pakistan, North Korea or Iran into the hands of Hezbollah, Hamas or some group we do not even know about could create a new Auschwitz in a few microseconds.

Q1. My heart tells me that yes, this might well be the thing which seals Trump’s fate – the numbers do seem to be stacking up against him. However, I wanted to pause a while to let my head catch up, and now I’ve thought about it I’m not so convinced. We all have a super-power, and Trump’s is that he’s the great disruptor. The guy has an amazing track record in turning order into chaos and then exploiting the situation. He also has a great ability to go around “the system” and connect with real people. He gets what he wants, and betting against that has largely proven to be the wrong call. I still don’t know how smart the man actually is, but I doubt he’s so stupid that he didn’t know exactly the outcry that would arise from treating Putin as his new best friend. This is real Sun Tzu stuff (the art of war)! Give it a day or two and then Trump can start to market what has happened in Finland as “Fuck “the system”. Real people want peace”. At the moment there are a lot of people (including most of the Deep State) who want to frame Trump as a TRAITOR. Those people will be like a dog with a bone and won’t easily let go of pushing that message. They will do it passionately and blindly – beyond irrationality! However, I’ll wager won’t take long before Joe Public has a chance to digest all this and then sees through it – including getting bored and then angry with these people. Fundamentally they will ask themselves – What is wrong with peace? What is wrong with wanting to get along with other people? Q2. I haven’t read other’s answers here yet as I wanted to get my own thoughts in line first. I’ll wager there are a dozen good answers to this already posted. My take is dominated by a recent article I read by Taleb, which talked about the motivation of journos. Basically there are any number of gullible readers who have the attention span of a goldfish. There are, however, a dwindling number of MSM employers (partly due to the reducing role of MSM; partly due to MSM becoming increasingly controlled by fewer and fewer wealthy people – who all see the world similarly). The bottom line is that if you piss off a few readers then who cares? However, if you piss off an employer then you are likely to become unemployed. Basically, MSM dances to the tune of a deep state, of whom the MSM bosses are a part. Likewise politicians. That deep state is big business (and a scam) and needs a villain to justify its existence. As H.L.Mencken said – “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”
The Czar was a complete fool. He lived in a fantasy land so divorced from reality, he had no clue what was happening in his own Empire. The other nobles were just as dense. Only a few, like their head of secret police had any idea what they were facing. You can tell they had no clue by their absurdly civilized ways of dealing with revolutionaries and anarchist terrorists by sending them to live in Siberia or sending them abroad to France to plot and fund raise.

That “quote” you attribute to Trotsky is “reputedly” found in the memoirs of a jeweler from the Czar’s court, supposedly from “‘Memoirs’ of Aron Simanovich”, later “requoted” in “The Nature of Zionism” by Vladimir Stepin, Moscow, 1993. And then translated out of Russian. which is always reliable, right?
In fact, the original memoirs NEVER mention Trotsky. So how did this Stepin fellow quote a quote from a memoir that never mentions Trotsky? So you are attributing a quote to Trotsky from an author quoting a memoir of a jeweler where the quote seems never to have been made. Wow.
That quote is highly suspect, and scholars do not believe it is Trotsky.
Even a tiny bit of research would uncover that this is almost certainly bullshit, and was created to support a narrative.

You don’t like the source of the quote. hahaha Maybe you don’t like jewelers? I think the quote is legit. Because it is in line with other things Trotsky said and believed. Because Trotsky was a Jew. Because the Russian revolution was instigated by Jews to topple Christian Russia’s political, social and economic power structures. As such, the quote certainly isn’t outrageous. Even YOU said “almost … bullshit”.

4) how is it that someone has such a memory of such a long quote
5) scholars say that in no way does it resemble anything Trotsky would or did say
6) the Russian revolution indeed had an over representation of Jews, but in no way was it implemented by Jews. They were a vast minority of those involved. But hey, never let facts stand in the way of a false narrative.

It had more to do with WW1,vast deprivation, the fact that the Czar was the richest man on earth, the forced conscription and slaughter of the peasants. And you sir are no decent scholar in this field. You use as your source a reference to a reference to a source that does not even mention Trotsky. That is some sound scholarship right there, yes indeed. You accept at face value that the fact that if a reference is listed it is legit.
Dig a bit deeper. Fund out who the person listing it is. When was the memoir written? By whom? What access to Trotsky was there.Was the person writing it stable(hint;apparently not)? Did you know the memoir writer worked for Rasputin? Great reference there, right?

Edut – dug a little deeper. Still looks like Trotsky was not mentioned in the memoir. Seems a journalist may have attributed that quote to the memoir in the 1930s, and that it may have been passed along since.
