I tried to watch the news tonight. I really tried. The effort ended in abortion.
There. I said it. Abortion. It is what it all boils down to, isn’t it?
Wasn’t that the poison pill Lucifer handed to Eve at the Tree?*
Trust me, Dr. Ford, there are no coincidences at all.
Did I see a post by Uncola or one of his understudies here (a lot of “UNs” which may not be soda related) regarding Ford’s association with a pharmaceutical industry that manufactures the abortion pill? In the editing time allotted to us by TMWNN I will try to find the reference and add it.
Or was that one of those propaganda plants folks around here like to drop into their otherwise interesting articles about Top Ten Treaties and Negotiations, teasing with a few gems only to drop the big fat gorilla turds at the end.
*Perhaps when Eve heard “be like God” she heard “control all life.”

The comment about the abortion pill connection to Dr. Ford came from Zman’s post “The Game of Chicken.”
So, the reason I bring up the Garden of Eden Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil story is this: Mythology and Legend play a role in our cultural understanding. The reason the garden story resonates with us all is that almost every culture has a similar origin story that involves some sort of special tree. Probably a snake or dragon, as well. Origin stories seem a natural sort of place to discuss childbearing, don’t they?
Why does the serpent pick on Eve? Could it be that of she and Adam, she is, in fact, most “like” God, able to create and produce life? Perhaps the temptation to eat of the fruit is really the temptation to control her own body? Or perhaps a really good propaganda campaign by a conniving advertising guy convinced the woman the two are exactly the same thing: Forbidden fruit and sexual freedom.
So, those women who grasp what I mean will realize we were all robbed at some point. It didn’t start with Roe v. Wade, though. It started a lot earlier in the century with an assault on the role of women in society. Instead of refining the role of mother and caregiver, dignifying it with respect, we allowed the role to be diminished as we got sent to the fields to produce revenue for the masters while our children suffered in daycare and in a public education system that is the shame of the nation.
It is time for a few good women to stand up and put an end to the charade. It would help if a few good men would back them up.
