QUOTES OF THE DAY

“The things you used to own, now they own you.”

Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

“I see in the fight club the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables, slaves with white collars, advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of the history man, no purpose or place, we have no Great war, no Great depression, our great war is a spiritual war, our great depression is our lives, we’ve been all raised by television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars, but we won’t and we’re slowly learning that fact. and we’re very very pissed off.”

Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

“On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.”

Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

He has a point but I’m not ready to live in a yurt and take a dump behind a bush in 10 degree weather. People try to sell the no possessions schtick knowing you won’t like life in a 300 square foot stack and pack high rise building.

The .001% won’t/will never live that way so why should we? FTS

I guess that quote explains why the nom de plume of the editor at Zero Hedge is “Tyler Durden” and the second quote is their motto.
