“Status Quo Is Unacceptable” – Walmart Stops Selling Some Ammo After Store Shootings

Via ZeroHedge

“It’s clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable,” Walmart Chief Executive Officer Doug McMillon said in a statement, this morning, after announcing that the massive retailer will cease selling some types of ammunition and ask customers to not openly carry firearms in its aisles in the wake of two deadly shootings in its stores.

“In a complex situation lacking a simple solution, we are trying to take constructive steps to reduce the risk that events like these will happen again.”

As Bloomberg reports, the company will discontinue sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition such as .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber once it has sold through its current inventory commitments, it said in a statement to employees Tuesday.

It will also stop offering handgun ammunition after it has sold through existing inventory.

In addition, Walmart will end handgun sales in Alaska, the only state where it still sells them, and is “respectfully requesting” that shoppers not open-carry guns in states where it’s permitted.

McMillon went on to note that:

“We know these decisions will inconvenience some of our customers, and we hope they will understand,” adding that,

“we have a long heritage as a company of serving responsible hunters and sportsmen and women, and we’re going to continue doing so,”

Last month Walmart disclosed that it accounts for about 2% of the U.S. firearms market, which would place it outside the top three sellers; and today’s moves, which Walmart said will reduce its market share of ammunition to between 6% and 9%, down from about 20% currently, represent the retailer’s first big steps since attacks in stores in Texas and Mississippi left 24 people dead.

Finally, we do note one comment from a very experienced gun owner, that “no one buys [Walmart’s] overpriced ammo anyway.”

Still, virtue signaled, so all is well.

Gunmaker stocks stumbled on the news…

But was quickly bid back.

Walmart is by far the most inexpensive ammo retailer in my area so we will be paying significantly more around here now for .223 and pistol cartridge’s.

SGAmmo.com. Wally can’t touch them for price or selection. I didn’t see any list for “short barreled rifle ammunition” however.

Now that their tortise like cashiers are not scanning ammunition, there will be no more waiting in checkout line.

If you think about it, that’s their plan… If they can’t take away our guns, all the LEFT and TPTB have to do is minimize/stop the sale of ammo, and they will eventually achieve their ultimate objective>>> Rendering us all disarmed…
STOCK UP WHILE YOU CAN, AND LEARN TO RELOAD IF NECESSARY

There is plenty of markup in ammunition.

Especially store-bought retail shit.

Is Walmart the next Dick’s?

Well since Trump is cutting off the importation of cheap shit from China and Walmart doesn’t want to sell ammo sounds like the shelves are going to be pretty empty and the parking lot should be 100% empty…I hope Walmart goes bankrupt….may the pubic regions of their officers and directors be infested with 10,000 starving fleas!

“Finally, we do note one comment from a very experienced gun owner, that “no one buys [Walmart’s] overpriced ammo anyway.”” Not sure where this “very experienced” gun owner lives, but Wally is by far the cheapest near me, often beating the online ammo dealers when one adds in shipping.
I call BS on that one.

LAX in california of all places often has free shipping to 47 states under various offers; SG Ammo of Oklahoma usually the cheapest on most bulk ammo and lists shipping along side case prices.

A case of 1,000 Winchester 9mm NATO 124 fmj is around $10 a box delivered from SGAmmo. Closer to $9 when they have a sale. .223 $5.75 to a whisker over $6. 7.62×39 around $4 a box, $200 a case. Wally never has any good prices except for stuff like AA trap loads around here. Farm & Fleet from time to time can surprise with good sales around here.

I don’t go through the doors of a Walmart under any circumstances. Walmart is a Jew-owned, shit-hole where freaks of all colors and sizes congregate buying China junk! JewMart has ruined every American town in which it’s been established, running countless businesses, and bankrupting untold numbers of American retail outlets. Anyone that shops at Walmart is either a traitor, an idiot, or a freak! I wouldn’t piss on the doors of a Walmart if it was on fire.

Learn to reload. It’s rewarding, less expensive than buying retail, and a wonderful hobby and pastime. Fuck Walmart!!!

What a crock of stupidity. Looks like the Progs have invented a new term as well, “short-barrel rifle ammunition.” Anybody here have “short-barrel rifle ammunition?” Which brings up another question, does anyone have medium or long barrel ammunition?
To be clear, the only official term I am aware of is the SBR license under the NFA(National Firearms Act of 1934) which requires a $200 federal tax stamp and governmental agency approval to own a rifle with a barrel shorter than 16″.
Fuque Wally World and the Razorback they rode in on. I will not buy any of their ammo if they sell it for 2 cents.
I hope no one buys their current inventory and they have to burn it.
I demand they quit selling hammers since more people are murdered with them than rifles of all types and lengths. In fact, just to be assholes and rub it in their ignorant faces we should all “open carry” hammers when we go to Wally World just to give them a highly deserved ration of shit.

Walmart is about to piss off a lot of people for needlessly injecting themselves into another branch of wokesterism politics. They have decided to walk into a mine field from which they will not emerge with their members intact. Usually when a company makes stupid decisions there is a host of other stupid decisions we don’t hear about. Their biggest problem is that they can’t keep their shelves stocked. It’s like I heard an old salesman say years ago- for every item you don’t have on the shelf when a customer wants to buy, you just lost money. How much money are they losing over this?

Instead of trying to ban or control the weapons and ammo why isn’t there a push to have mandatory weapons training for all citizens? At this time and in spite of individual peculiarities, I believe that there are more civilized people willing to defend their human rights and freedoms than there are uncivilized ones who, willingly or not, seek to take those rights and freedoms away from those in the land of the living.
